November 2009:There is so much in the works for CPPC members right now, you are going to be kept busy and gaining lots of riding and knowledge experience this coming year!
Okay first Jenn will be mass emailing everyone once the calendar and this news page is updated after each meeting. Jenn will NOT be composing a full email, just a "reminder" to check the website. Why type everything two or three times, right!?!? There will be no regular unmounted meeting in December, just our blow out Christmas party.
Quiz: Practices have been added to the calendar. All C and D members are being required to go to Quiz rally in 2010. We will be carpooling so if your parents cannot take you, that will not be a valid reason to NOT attend rally :-) Janet is organizing the quiz practices this year (09-10), please speak with her if you have any questions! All members are required to attend the first practice. Teams will be announced at the March unmounted meeting, so team mates may do extra prepping together if they wish to do so.
Calendar dates: All dates which are known as of now have been added to the calendar. Some of the rally dates are different from what was mentioned at the DC meeting. I have matched our calendar dates with those posted on the MD regional website.
Christmas party: Will be at Calamans' home, beginning at 4pm! There was a sign up sheet at the November meeting, someone picked it up as Jenn does not have it. Whoever has it, please let Jenn know who signed up and what item they are bringing. There will be gift game, all members are to bring a gift (wrapped not bagged) up to $15.00 in value. No name on it, you'll see what we do, its alot of fun.
Ratings: Ratings are coming up fast!!!! D's are 11/28/09 at Wishing Well Equestrian Center (Newville PA). C's are 11/29/09 at Wilson College (Chambersburg PA). If you have a child rating... at least one parent MUST attend that rating to aid the examiner in set up, tear down, and for appointed positions. Each day will begin at 9:00AM, but please be ready for inspections no later than 8:45AM, so exmainer may begin a little early if she wishes to!! Sara, the examiner, and Dan will assign parents to positions where help is needed. If you have any questions call or email Dan before Friday (11/27/09). GOOD LUCK to all are girls!
October 2009: There is so much to tell about what our club has done that I dont even know where to start! It has been a very busy year to say the least.... More details to come... But watch out for CPPC in 2010, something tells me our girls were just 'warming-up' this year :-)
Two of our C, our HB, and six of our D members competed in Dressage, Show Jumping, and Eventing Rallies this year. All came home with sound horses, happy riders, proud stable managers, and some even more proud parents/families. I am going to try and get each rally member to write up something special reflecting their rally experience to post on the website. Off hand I cannot remember our D dressage team placing, but our girls took 6th at eventing and 2nd at show jumping out of 20+ teams.
May 2009: Thank you to Erin for giving our members a very nice introduction into the world of equine message!
This month was a busy one for the C members. Maeve and Laura competed at the Maryland Regional Dressage and Show Jumping Rallies! Dressage rally their team finished in 9th overall and 3rd in horsemanagment. They both put in good tests against some very tough competition. Each of them had to ride two different dressage tests in large arenas. For Show Jumping rally, it was a hectic day do to a change in venue and the heat/humidity. After being up since 2AM, both of our girls pulled through to finish with a wonderful thrid round of jumping and their team finished in 9th place overall. For this rally they had to complete a jog out, and three rounds of jumping. Congrats to a job well done, on to eventing rally now.....
April 2009: Thank you to Dr. Holly Wendell for spending the evening speaking with our members and their parents about worming and vaccinations. The "talk" was very informative, and we would love to have you back again! On a very happy note some of our members have been getting out and about already this year. Congrats to Abby, Erika, Kelly, Meave, and Laura on their horse shows and RIBBONS! Great job!!! Please remember to check the calendar for updates.
Rally news: Maeve, Laura, and Sara (SM) are going to the C dressage rally in May. I am looking for a scramble team, will keep you posted on what I can find! Meave and Laura are also going to be repersenting our club at the C Show Jumping rally in May. You will be scrambling with a team from Chestnut Hill, two riders and stable manager, and I will be the coach. The two girls from CHPC are trying to get to Nationals. Also thank you to Dan, Sharon, and Emily for volunteering to help at the dressage rally. Dan has also volunteered to help at show jumping rally! I would like at least one more person to volunteer for Show Jumping rally. All of our members and family members may volunteer!
Dan and maybe Less are attending the Horse Management Seminar for the club, Thank you! Polo shirts for team members are being worked on, Less will let us know when they are ready. Also please contact Less for all club related clothing.
Ratings: Remember the 18th is our mounted rating prep at 9AM at Wishing Well. Ratings are May 9, flow charts are due to Dan by April 20th. If flow charts are not turned in on time, you will NOT be allowed to rate. May is a busy month for CPPC. I trying to work out a mounted meeting, if any one has a preference or days that will not work please let me know. It will have to be on a week day evening, as I am away showing/coaching/judging every Sat and Sun through the next 7 or so weeks.
Keep up the good work, Jenn
March 2009: Thank you to Richard for speaking to our club about shoeing, hoof health, and the relation to hooves and the horse overall health! Many dates have been set up, please check the calendar for those! We have two new members, Erika and Kelly, welcome and hope you have fun with us! There is a horse management seminar coming up in April. Please I would like to have at least two adults from our club attend, so you can help get our teams ready for rallies too!
I am starting up the USPC badge program! Please see Jenn for your booklet. Cost per badge will be $4.00 to cover the cost of each badge, materials, and shipping payable when you achieve the badge. This is generally aimed towards the D level, but anyone can do it. Also for the D's and unrated, we have set up two practice times in April for you to get help in preparing for you spring rating. The first will be unmounted the second is mounted. Please check calendar for more details.
Our first mounted meeting for 2009 will be at WWEC on Saturday the 28th of March. Again check calendar.
We have two members who would like to attend the C level rallies this year. Even if you are not a C member or parent, or may still go to the rallies to cheer on our riding members! To put on a show/rally requires people to volunteer their time and help. You can volunteer while going to the rallies, helps make time go by faster and you will be come part of running the show.
I will be using the email blast system through this site to contact members. Please if you have not accepted the invite, do so now. I will update this site on a regular basis as well. If you have not received the invite please let me know ASAP! Also, I have sent everyone the contact list. This list is for your use only! Please do not give out anyone's contact or personal information. You may forward my contact information on to anyone interested in the club or who have questions concerning CPPC, but my info is the only info allowed to be pasted around outside of our current club members, sponsors, and parents. Thank you! ~Jenn C.

Our members have choosen a flyer for the club and are now working on an impressive yet simple logo. Remember bring your logo ideas to the March meeting for voting. January 2009: Welcome to CPPC Abby R.! We talked about what direction to take the club in for an active 2009 year. There were many great ideas past around and we are going to work very hard to make them happen! Keep posted to the website on this page and on the calendar page for updates. Laura gave us a lesson on toxic plants and trees. There were many shocked faces in the room! Plants that are so common in our area were amoung some of the more dangerous.
