SO MUCH BETTER 1 - 5

"I'm gonna miss you," got followed by another kiss. "And I'm gonna miss you too," I smiled. Our lips were about to lock again but just in time a hand covering Matt's face stopped us. "It's gonna be only two weeks!" complained. He had been looking at us saying goodbye for five minutes already and got sick of it. "Guys, time to go!" Fletch yelled out. After tapping Matt on the back he was the first one to walk through the metaldetector. Matt, who had now got into a struggle with who was trying to keep him away from me, was trying ever so hardly to get a hold of me again. was the first one to return from Starbucks. "! Let them have a proper goodbye, will ya?" he said and pushed towards the metaldetectors. "See you in two weeks Matt!" "Byee" Matt just smiled and waved before he turned back to look at me. Putting his arms around my waist he gave me another kiss. "Are you sure that you're gonna survive?" he asked after they heard a bang followed by laughter and then screaming of Fletch. I laughed, nodded and looked at him. I loved seeing him all concerned about nothing, he knew that I was going to be okay, he just wants to make a scene, but I'll roll along into it. "I'll be fine.. and if not, you are coming over in only two weeks and I'm sure that I will be able to keep myself alive untill then," I joked. For some reason goodbye's can never be romantic with me, I've always got to make it funny or either so bad that it will leave one of us crying. "Come on!" we heard Fletch calling out impatient once again. "You will see her in two weeks!" didn't seem to get over it. I leant in for one more kiss but the romantic goodbye got disturbed by who, while making jungle sounds, picked me up, threw me over his shoulder and ran of followed by who was holding two cups of Starbucks black coffee. Matt shook his head. "Are you sure?!" he yelled after me looking a bit concerned. I saw him and share words. While still lying on 's shoulder I gave him a last wave before going through the metaldetectors together. Of course I'm always the one who makes the machine beep, so I had to get off of and got searched. Another wave to Matt and I saw him leave. "Ah, don't touch my-" yelled while he was getting searched aswell but who got stopped screaming by Fletch covering his mouth. It took us thirty more minutes before we got to go onto the plane. Entering with paper Starbucks cups made into weird shaped hats, I was looking forward to landing in America for Mcfly's USA tour.

Being a songwriter and Matthew Fletcher's niece, I simply rolled into my job. That's where I met the so called love of my life and most of my today's closest friends. All that I'm really asked to do is when an artist needs a songwriter, to be there and take my inspiration and creativity with me. I don't get asked alot, but I get to deal with deadlines and I happen to be really stress sensitive. I know how to deal with it, but it gets to its extremes at times. Now that McFly was going on their second tour in America they decided to take me with them. I had no choice, I was forced to spent two months with four bastards and my uncle. They used the excuse 'We even thanked you on the last three albums!' and now that they were about to make an American album, they insisted that I'd come. Whenever they got stuck on a song, I'd come in with a wonderfull idea and it'd always make a brilliant song in the end.

"Oh, what a coinsedence!" a sarcastic voice made heads turn. "Leave it alone ," Fletch said and sat down next to me. "It's just so typical! We only get one window seat and she gets it, simply just because she's a girl and needs 'special threatment'!" complained. I knew he was only joking. "Sit," pulled down next to him. "You just wish that you got a special threathment," said and immediatly got shot by a glare of . "You can sit next to Fletch for the whole journey if you want to," I said to , knowing that they'd been fighting over who was gonna be sat next to him. He falls asleep, snores, drewles and gets kranky when he wakes up from an airhostess taping his shoulder, asking if he wants some food. I could deal with it, he's just like my dad. just mumbled something under his breath and turned his Ipod on.
It only took them fortyfive minutes before the first one got out of his chair. decided to go for a walk and just kept walking in circles, stopping at times to have a chat with random people. had fallen asleep and and knew how to take advantage of that. Shoving things up his nose and ears, making pictures of him and of themselves transformed them into two giggling five year olds. I enjoyed myself watching a film and observing the lads being silly and Fletch was reading a book, testing the ear-plugs he had specially bought for this tour. After a while I got bored and went to the toilet, just to strech my legs really, almost waking Fletch up who was now asleep, holding the book that was lying on his lap and slightly drewling. When I was on my way back to my seat I didn't even get the chance to get close to my chair. Walking down the isle peacefully got disturbed by two hands grabbing my waist and pulling me onto a lap. "Okay, so" started. Laughing and trying to get of 's lap she said "What?" He just smiled. " and I have been thinking, somebody's got to replace Matt now you know," he said seriously. I had to laugh when I saw nodding heavily with a serious face. "Okay, who are my choices" I played along. I could see flashing a surprised look to , but I kept it straight. "We knew that you were interrested! We thought of or either ..." said seriously. I nodded slowly, thinking carefully about my options. It was either kranky or messed up . "'s not really that actractive..." I looked at , slightly disgusted by the bits of paper sticking out of his nose and the crisps hanging from his ears. "... and, 's being a pain in the ass really" I said, looking behind them where was sat. "Okay one, I'm not deaf and two, don't disturb me in my sudoku!" said, slapping his puzzle book in my face. "So, that means not and not either?" asked looking sneaky in a scary way. I suddenly got really aware of the fact that I was sitting on 's lap and him still holding my waist. I've been in this position before but never have been talking about this subject or had my uncle been right behind me ready to be woken up at any second as I saw the trolley stuffed with food coming down the isle. "Food's here" I said and got myself out of 's hands and carefully climbed over Fletch and sat down like nothing had happened.

"Shower, shower, showeeeeerr, I would so like a showeerr!" 's mood turned when we got of the plane. He was walking around randomly and made up his own song while waiting for our lugage. "Guys, leave those trolleys alone!" Fletch was running after and who got hold of a two trolleys and were now having a race down the hall, screaming at people to run for their lives. and I were having a closer look at the McDonalds that was near, giving Fletch the excuse that we both had to pee and walked of 'trying to find the toilets'. Returning with a burger and a milkshake I could see Fletch giving up on us and just sat down and took the book he had been drewling into earlier and started reading with again his earplugs, which seemed to be working. "I like American accents," said and tried one out, sounding absolutely ridiculous. I didn't tell him though. "That's pretty good actually," I said impressive, he seemed to fall for it. When we finally got our lugage, we went to our hotel. I thought I either got my own room or had to share one with my uncle, seperate beds of course! When I got there, things turned a little. There were three rooms. One room fourbeds room, and two twobeds rooms. Fletch got his own room, but maybe had to share it later if somebody else from Universal would come over so he took one of the twobed rooms. I thought that the four guys would (obviously) get the fourbed room, but and insisted to get the twobed room because ' and are way too nasty' I quote in the exact way he said it. Leaving the fourbed room for me, and . One bunker bed and one double bed. When we got the keys we found out that Fletch's room was opposite to 's and 's room and the fourbed room was next to that. We'd only be here for a week, but the fighting over the beds had already started before we even got into the rooms. Surprisingly, and didn't fight over the double bed, they were more concerned about who got the top bunker. I just made sure that they knew that I was gonna sleep in the double bed, alone, so I got my suitcase and my bag, threw them on the left side on the bed and gave my body a rest on the right side. When I heard them play rock-paper-scissors and in the end celebrating, I knew that had lost. I expected to hear him putting his suitcase near his bed, but instead I heard my bags fall of of the double bed. ", right is my side, you're gonna be left," he said and pushed me so I rolled over to the left. "Uhh, correction, my side would be the middle and your side would be the below bunker!" I said, turned around and spread my arms and legs, covering almost everything of the bed. I got a look from and laughed. "Don't get yourself in positions like that, it's dangerous woman!" said, jumping of the bed and walking into the bathroom. I forgot I was in a room with two guys who didn't have girlfriends for over two years and probably hadn't been close to a girl for about three months. I closed my legs, but didn't move my arms. ", move over!" was trying his best to get me to move, but I got hold of the head end of the bed. Pulling my legs, attempting to throw my suitcase out of the window (he couldn't even lift it, the poor boy) and showing my bra's to all didn't got me moving, so he gave up and sat down on the below bunker. "Alright alright... you win," said and poked his tongue at me. I just smiled and sat up. Expecting to see his chance and burry his body into my sheets, but he stayed calm. I walked over to the bathroom, asking to get out because I needed a shower. When I touched the door I almost choked. Grabbing my nose and running as far away as I could I coughed. " OH MY GOD! You could've waited until after I had showered!!" I yelled angrily. laughed and pointed at me. "Ohh, you so understand now why and think 'we're nasty' and all that!" laughed harder. came walking out of the bathroom, holding 's puzzle book that he took earlier, slightly grinning. "Don't go in there for the next hour, I promise, you'll die" and did a high five and laughed. Oh god. I sighed and groaned, these seven days were gonna feel like at least six exhausting months...

"I don't know, what's going on?" sounded confused and a bit dissapointed, almost sad. I couldn't properly hear what was going on, I was in the next room. I don't know if I was allowed to go in there, maybe I was, maybe I had to be there, but I was too scared that I was gonna get funny looks, so decided to go and hide myself. After 10 minutes in the tourbus, which we got to see yesterday, I got out and just wanderd into the building. Nobody asked me who I was or what I was doing there, so I guessed that it was alright for me to have a look around. I suddenly heard the last album of McFly blasting out of this room, and I figured that they were in there, having a meeting about their time in America. "We need to get through to the younger audience before we're gonna go and present you to MTV and other big more serious music stations," a woman's sharp voice I could clearly hear. I sighed, knowing that they weren't gonna be happy with visiting childrens programmes and the young radio stations. Having a gig infront of screaming thirteen year olds was no problem, but the fact that people saw them as a child's band made them go crazy. Hearing chairs being moved she realized that they were gonna come out any second now. Feeling as if she was sort of ear dropping, she quickly ran out of the hall and got into the first lift being just quick enough not to be seen by anybody.

", I'm not drunk..." a obviously drunk told me. "Of course you're not" I replied and he walked of satisfied. I saw Fletch at the bar, keeping an eye on me. I knew that everything that I did or didn't do would go straight to my parents. I had to be carefull and try not to get too friendly with the alcohol. A difficult challenge, but so far I was alright. and tried to get me drunk earlier in our room by playing random drinking games. But with them two getting drunk, it got easier and easier for me to get them to believe that I really was drinking from the bottle and wasn't faking it. Now I turned into sort of a babysitter which others would hate, but I strangely enough enjoyed myself. When and found themselves running out of drinks on the mini bar, they decided to go to the hotel bar and get drinks of Fletch' name. Something that I never thought would work, but they got pretty far. When I found and , staring at themselves in the mirrors that covered the whole inside of the lift, I figured that they finished all of their mini bar drinks aswell. "You know what did?" a laughing walked up to me. "No, what?" I asked and saw Fletch from the corner of my eye, looking around. "He couldn't find the toilet, so he just picked a corner," tried so hard to keep his voice down, but was still half screaming. "What?!" I shrieked. "Don't worry, he took a plant," now pointed in the direction of . I saw him, struggling to close his belt and sighed. I wanted to get up to go and get him but saw that Fletch already was on his way. "Ok, time to go to upstairs guys!" he yelled and immediatly several groans for dissapointed were heard. "Come on, lets go" I helped up from the floor and while supporting him we made our way to the lifts. The way up took a long time, because found buttons so interresting and just had to push all of them. I was able to stop him right before he was about the push the emergency button. Every time the doors opened some one just needed to walk out. Alcohol really turns guys into four year olds who have no shame. When we finally got to the right floor and got everybody out of the lift, wanted to stay so badly as 'he loves the feeling in his belly when the lift stops' and wanted to go up and down a few more times, we found out that we locked ourselves out. Fletch was the only one who didn't forget his key, and instead of helping me with four guys who couldn't stand on their legs properly, he wished us luck, said good night and left me alone. "Okay, I'm not gonna leave you here alone because you will probably go and knock people's doors or whatever, so we all have to go down, but we're taking the stairs..." I looked at them, ready for complaints. Instead of that, they started a race to the stairs and I just prayed that nobody would fall down and break a leg.

I woke up when I heard a shower turn of. It was cold in our room and I felt wind blowing in my face. Couldn't be bothered to open my eyes, just turned around and streched my arms. The place next to me was empty, it made me think of Matt. Oh, how much did I wish for somebody to be there right now for me to snuggle with. I planned on at least 5 minutes of selfpity, but instead it took 3 seconds and somebody roughly pulled the covers away and threw them on the floor. "Get up !!" yelled. I groaned, turned around and hoped he'd leave me alone. "Oh no no no, you're getting out right now! We've been up since seven, my head ache is already gone and the shower is free... you still stink, so go have a shower!" got to the right side of the bed and pushed me to the left, making me almost fall out of my bed. closed the windows and opened the door to our balcony and took a deep breath. "Oooh, I just forgot what fresh air smells like," he said and raised an eyebrow at me. "Alright, alright! I got your point." I got up and walked to my suitcase to get clothes. "Strange how you can be like this after last night," I looked at who was straightning his bed covers. "You get used to it," shrugged. How can it be that when I go and get myself wasted, I feel like I'm in hell the next day, and they're fine after what they went through last night? and both fell down the stairs when they decided to carry each other down the stairs. was crying like a baby and needed comfort badly while was just inspecting his new bruises. and got lost and I found them in the girls toilets, spraying handlotion on each other. They we're not just drunk, they were close to dying. I left my confused thoughts in the room and dissapeared into the shower. About thirty minutes later I walked into the restaurant for breakfast and found all of them already there, having a laugh about last night. "Do not mention the whole lift thing, I heard two old women talking down the hall about some funky smelling and compaining about it to some hotel staff" Fletch said and pointed at . Immediatly everybody started laughing and I just looked at them while they carried on talking about the stairs fall that and made. I was confused and surprised that people could talk about stuff like that, laugh and just eat their breakfast. I would die in guilt, be so scared that they would know it was me and kick me out or anything like that, but nobody seemed to give a shit. I needed to get to know them better, they might be able to teach me some stuff.

"Is it... Jennifer Lopez?" I asked and got a gasp. "What the- how did you know?" looked exited and surprised. I smiled. "There's only one who can do it all, acting, dancing, singing... and not loose any weight on her ass," we both laughed. "Ok, your turn." and I were sat in a dressingroom, playing '20 questions celebraty style'. A game where you think of somebody famous and the other one can ask only twenty questions and has to figure out who it is. We'd been playing it for half an hour already, but it just didn't get old. "Uhmm... ok, I got somebody," I looked at him, grinning. "Is it a man?" "I think so yes..." I answered. He gave me a look and laughed. "How can you not know if the person is a guy or a girl?! Or... is he transexual?" quickly changed his mind on things, which made me laugh. "No, it's a man," I nodded. After about fifteen questions, he wasn't even close yet. He thought I was thinking about either George Bush or Justin Timberlake. Both wrong. "Ah, I give up!!" he yelled and a door opened. "On what?" 's head popped around. "Oh sorry am I disburbing you? Should I get the news through to Matt or is that already taken care of?" joked, but pulled it of to keep a straight face. "No, I think I might give him the phonecall, being the girlfriend and all that," I stood up, looking at a surprised, close to laughing . nodded. I loved how these guys played along in everything and got everybody to think the complete opposite of the truth. "I'm gonna get Fletch, see out if there's anything I can do or if I can just keep on being lazy for the rest of the day," I said and passed , placing one foot on the stairs that were connected to the door. "Oh, ... it was you by the way," I said and made my way back upstairs, hearing ask what the fuck I was on about.

"Is there anything I can do?" I asked Fletch. It was about five and I hadn't done anything all day, just fooled around and wondered around doing nothing. Being lazy basically. Fletch thought for a second but shrugged. "Find out if somebody's interrested in writing with you, otherwise, you're free to do what you want to," he said and got back to his work, what ever he was doing. Making my way to the canteen of the small place I saw and playing cards. I walked up to them and saw how beat the hell out of on a strange cardgame. "Loserr" gave the L on the forhead and laughed at him. just sighed. "I can't believe that you are actually proud of winning a game that you can only win on luck!" he said and shook his head. "What you doing?" I asked and sat down with them. "Want to play me? it's really easy," shook the cards. "We devide all the cards, and... you just lay one down, and who ever's card is highest, can take them. Who in the end has the most cards wins" explained. I looked at , kind of letting him know that I thought was stupid and made big eyes and nodded. "No thanks, I was just wondering if you two are interrested in writing with me?" I asked and got up again, leaning on the table with both my hands. I was hoping that they both would say yes. Writing with the both of them was amazing. These guys have the ability to come up with tunes so easily and when one gets stuck, the other comes in and helps out. On their way, they come up with beautiful lyrics that most of the time make no sence but all put together it's brilliant. I'm only needed for the inspiration and creativity. Tell them when I think it needs to be different, or when things are going great. Basically, an intelligent cheerleader. Sadly enough, only was up for it. was too busy with his cardgame and went to find somebody else to play with. went to get his guitar from the tourbus and I needed to find a pencil and some paper. We met in the dressingroom where we found sleeping on the sofa. Where went, I had no idea and didn't really care.

"Ok, started on anything or do you have any inspiration, ideas, anything?" I asked, holding my pen close to the paper, ready to write something down. "You know what, I do actually... it's maybe kind of cliche but I had a dream about it," started. His guitar was laying on his lap and he was leaning on it with his elbows. Normally you couldn't have a guitar near him, he just had to touch a string or play a quick tune, but right now he sort seemed to have lost the ADHD thing. "Ok, cliche on a new level it is?" I asked, and without waiting for an answer I wrote it down. "Yea, it's about... there's this girl who has a boyfriend and a best friend. And, the best friend has to see them together and just feels misserable because he wants to trade places with the boyfriend, do you get what I mean?" he asked. I just looked at him. "When you said cliche I didn't think it was gonna be so bad, but alright," I smiled. He got his guitar and started randomly playing some tunes. "I want you to write the lyrics," he suddenly said. I looked up, only using my eyes, my head stayed in position and I grinned. "Are you sure?" I asked and he nodded while foccusing on his work. "Yea, make it verse, chorus, verse, pre chorus, chorus, verse, bridge, chorus, chorus" he said. While he was talking I wrote everything down. "Pass me a paper?" he said and grabbed a pen from 's chest pocket, who was still sleeping on the sofa, underneath his own coat. I grinned at the sight. I gave him a piece of paper and he immediatly started scrabbling. I just sat back and concentrated on the words. Surprisingly he really let me go and do my own thing. Normally I could maybe give two or three sentences, maybe a word here or there, which would give them the ability to come up with new things. Especially was really carefull with other people's inputs. They're known for writing and playing their own songs, and when other people suddenly start writing songs for them, that's gonna be a lie. was a bit easier, but still it wasn't as if I ever got to write the lyrics to a whole song. I knew that it maybe wasn't even going to be used, but this was a great opportunity to show some more of my abilities. I got to some great ideas but lost my inspiration when and entered and started jumping on . got of, but found a comfortable seat on top of so stayed right where he was. I tried to get back in my writing vibe, but when Fletch walked in with pot noodle for everybody I gave up and put my work away to have dinner.

After the guys played, they strumbled into the bus and it took about 10minutes before we took of to the hotel. I was sitting upstairs on the sofa in my comfortable clothes, writing on 's song. I was quite far already. I had a chorus, which could change, but I had a start, and the first verse was coming together. Next to some doodling and random rhyming words there was slowly a song coming together. I didn't hear the guys enter because of my oh so loud iPod that seemed to be glued to my ears, so I got scared to death when I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder. It was , who collapsed on the sofa next to me and opened a cold bottle of water. I turned my iPod of and looked behind me to see one by one the guys and Fletch enter, all with a water bottle. Except for Fletch, they all looked red, sweaty and still kind of exited. "Hows the song coming?" asked after he almost finished his whole bottle at once. I shrugged and just gave him the notebook. His wet fingers, from the water bottle may I add, not from sweat, made wet spots on the paper. If his sweat drops were gonna fade the ink out, that wouldn't be my fault! I put my hood on and layed back, wishing that I had a bed to sleep in. I wonder why I didn't take a cab earlier. Would've given me some time alone in my room, maybe gave me the time to have an actual bath and just some alone time. I also would've been able to call Matt on Fletch' creditcard. I sighed and from the corner of my eye I picked up, who was grinning at me. "What?" I asked and rubbed my eyes. He laughed. "Look at you," he said and gave me a hug with one arm. "What?" I asked again, now even more confused. "Being all sad and depressed, you alright?" he asked, now sitting next to me with one arm around me. I shrugged. "yea, fine... just a bit tired." Is it just me, or does every guy ask you if you're alright, even if your face is just in a normal pose? I understood where he got the idea that I wasn't feeling very happy, but still, it's not like I'm in a deep deep depression, begging to be loved by somebody who can magically make my face smile. "You miss the man, don't you?" he almost whispered it, sort of making sure that I was the only one hearing it. Even if he would've just said it out loud, everybody else was too busy talking about the gig, they wouldn't have heard it anyways. I was gonna laugh and slap him and say that I wasn't, but instead of that I just nodded. "Kind of," I said and looked at him. He smiled. I was surprised that he was the one asking me that question. He had been going on and on about the fact that Matt was gonna come over in two weeks, and now he turned into a comforting teddybear. ", don't you think that will notice?" I heard say and looked at . He was looking at my chest, and when I looked I saw his hand trying to get hold of my left breast. Immediatly slapping his hand way got everybody laughing and I realized I was wrong. 's no teddybear. Nobody here would be a teddybear. They're all just men, and men are all the same in the end. Being the only girl was fun at times, but I wished that at some point there would be another girl, woman, anything that I can relate to who would stand up for me in a non sexual way. "Guys, we're here. , I want you to take the other bed in my room and , you're gonna find a place to sleep in and 's room," Fletch said and pushed everybody down the stairs and out of the bus. Okay, so maybe my female company was called Fletch and happened to be my uncle who could look into my brains, which scared me a little bit. Surprisingly, without complaining and took some stuff and left me alone in my room. A room with place for four people to sleep, and I was the only one there. Thank you ever so much uncle Fletch.
