Finally some good news out of Edgeley Park, the Stockport Schoolboys have won the very prestigious, English FA Schools Cup, representing Stockport County the lads put in a performance worthy of professional football as they beat Warrington Schoolboys who were representing Warrington Town 2-1 at Edgeley Park on a very sunny Monday evening, the first time Stockport has had the trophy to itself, in 1948 the Stockport Schoolboys (6 of which went on to play for County) held Liverpool Boys to a 0-0 draw at Edgeley Park and then a 3-3 draw at Anfield when the decision was made for both teams to share the trophy, but the class of 2009 have taken a very impressive route to glory, beating Stoke (Stoke City), Wolverhampton (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Erdington and Saltney, Tameside (Hyde United), South London (Fulham) and of course in the final Warrington (Warrington Town).
Congratulations to the succesful Stockport team, they have done, themselves, their schools, Stockport and Stockport County proud.

Welcome to a new mini section of mine called, "If only", basically I take some situations of 'oh so close' and then imagine "What if?" I will then describe the good that could have come from it, or the bad that could of come from it:
7. Stockport County 2-7 Rochdale
This was a truly embarassing defeat for everyone involved in Stockport County which didn't go down well, but had we have won this would the lads have had the motivation to set things right the season after beating the 'Dale 3 times in one season and of course one of the three was the fantastic Wembley victory.
