County4life Match Report

Stockport County 1-3 Exeter City

Doing what we do best County gifted Exeter the win with two very late goals, Exeter opened the scoring about 10 minutes before half time totally against the run of play, however equality was restored on 75 minutes when Rose curled in a beautiful free-kick but then once again our defence lost concentration and paid for it with two late goals.

Colchester United 2-0 Stockport County

The Tuesday night trip to Essex was an expecting anhialation, the fact it was only 2-0 can only be viewed as a positive with two early goals from Colchester, this game was nothing to write home about.

I apologise for the poor excuse of match reports this week but life has been busy, normal service resumed as of Saturday, sorry again.

County4life

You heard it here first!....

As is with every up coming transfer window, names keep getting thrown around as to who is in cahoots with who, which big name players cousins dog walker has heard that he is moving, well over the last few months I have been keeping tabs on rumours of players we are 'potentially' signing, now all of this could be bollocks but it's still interesting to hear who people link us too, so here are the names I have heard thrown around for potential January signings, supposing we are out of Administration of course, alot of old boys in there!

Liam Dickinson - Apparently Dicko, hasn't really been able to settle anywhere since his move to Derby and according to some of his 'friends' he isn't settled in Brighton and is looking for a move closer to home, why not us, he enjoyed the best spell of his career with us, got a Wembley Winners medal and was part of both the miraculous survival squad and the glorious promotion squad, possibly one to look out for?

Adam Rooney - The Younger brother of Wayne, currently plying his trade in the familiar surroundings of Macclesfield, a very highly rated player by alot of Football League sides including being taken on trial by Barnsley over Summer he has been fantastic for The Silkmen over the last couple of seasons and his name has been thrown around in a number of fanzines and media outlets, a figure of up to £500,000 would be required to get him away from our Cheshire neighbours.

Warren Feeney - The Northern Ireland internation Warren Feeney was apparently on the verge of signing for us and then Leeds United and then us again before finally not signing for anyone, condemning himself to another season of Reserve football for Cardiff City, perhaps January is the time to try and get him again, the man who said upon leaving "County are a great club and I would love to play for them again one day" could possilby be rejoining us?

Anthony Elding - 'Eldinho' hasn't had a good time of things recently since moving to Leeds, playing only a handful of games for The Whites and not even making the Wembley Squad then shipped off to Crewe where he was subject to relegation in his first season and this season has been sent to Lincoln City on loan and now Kettering Town on loan so it's becoming painfully obvious that The Railwaymen don't want him and I think a small figure would be enough to make them part company with him.

James Spencer - Yes you read it correctly, the wonderfully inconsistent James Spencer, hero of Carlisle '06, Villain of Watford '07 'Spence' has always had mixed critics amongst the County fans, some loving him some hating him however I have heard his name thrown around as a possible replacement for Owain Fon Williams if Owain was to leave in January, in my opinion this is a bit of a dud rumour but still worth keeping an eye out for....

Shaun Joel-Henderson - A Northern Irish Schoolboy, having a similar name to one of our editors funnily enough, currently plays for Accrington Stanley's Under 17 side as a Goalkeeper having played at grounds such as Ewood Park and Maine Road, it's clear that pressure doesn't bother the young stopper actually passing a trial with Burnley in Summer but failing to agree a contract with the Premier League new boys certainly one for the future at just 17 years of age.

Remember none of these rumours are confirmed and they could all be just talk but it's definately a good talking point and could be interesting to look out for over January, any more transfer rumours email us.
