Getting to Hornby Island from Vancouver:
Take BC Ferries to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island from either Horseshoe Bay or Tsawassen Ferry Terminals. Once in Nanaimo follow the signs to Highway 19 North. Follow the highway north for about 1 hour to Exit 101. The sign for the exit says Buckley Bay on it. Take the ferry from Buckley Bay to Denman Island. Follow the signs across Denman Island to the Hornby Island ferry. Take the ferry to Hornby Island.

Getting to Hornby Island from Victoria:
Follow Highway 1 north to Nanaimo. Once in Nanaimo follow the signs to Highway 19 and follow it north for about 1 hour to Exit 101. The exit sign for the exit says Buckley Bay on it. Take the ferry from Buckley Bay to Denman Island. Follow the signs across Denman Island to the Hornby Island ferry. Take the ferry to Hornby Island.

Getting to Ruth's Country Retreat on Hornby Island:
When you drive off the ferry follow the main road. Look for the Cardboard House Bakery on the left side of the road 5 kilometers after you have left the ferry terminal. Drive for another kilometer until you get to the Carmichael Road turnoff. Turn left onto Carmichael Road. Drive for 300 meters until you get to the Cowie Road turnoff and turn right onto Cowie Road. Follow Cowie Road for 600 meters unil it intersects Gunpowder Trail. Turn left onto Gunpowder Trail. We are the third driveway on the left. Look for our sign at the end of the driveway!
