I have been making Teddy Bears for several years now and the experience of creating these wonderful little creatures is priceless.
I make my bears from several different mediums. It ranges from recycled fur coats , synthetic fur , mohair, and a process known as needlefelting.
Needlefelting is a sculpting process where the artist uses a barbed needle and wool. The artist pokes the wool with the barbed needle and as it is poked and turned , the wool becomes a solid mass, and is formed into whatever the artist decides it should be. This little Irish bear was made through the needlefelting process.
My Bears are one of a kind, I make a different pattern for each one, and each bear comes with a laminated card with its name and my signature and that it is a Ooak bear.
I dont carry a lot of bears in stock, as I like to try to make to suit the people I am making them for, If I can , I try to match the personality of the person I am making it for. So I do try to get to know my customers.
In some cases , people send me fur coats they have, and ask for it to be made into a bear. The condition of the coat will dictate the size and type of bear. Some coats are unusable. I do line the real fur coats when I make the bears to give them the extra strength and stability that they need.
The prices of my bears depend on several different things. It depends on the medium used , the amount of time spent on the bear as I hand sew my bears.
My bears are collector peices only they are not suitable young children.
