Cotton Productions

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What types of video media do you accept?

A. For uploading, we accept any type of video files EXCEPT files that are in the DivX format as they cannot be loaded into most editing programs.  For mail, we accept CD-ROM's, DVD's, and MiniDV tapes.  VHS tapes are not currently accepted but will be soon.

Q. How and when do I pay for services?

A. Payments must be made prior to receiving your finished footage. If customers wish to preview the finished footage, a short clip will be provided via internet which has no sound and contains a watermark (a BIG RED X across the screen.)

Q. Other than parcel services or mail, how else can I get my footage to Cotton Productions?

A. Considering your file is not too large, you can upload your video footage via the internet to us and it can be returned the same way.

Q. How do I upload my footage to Cotton Productions?

A. Once you contact us via email, a website address will be provided to you if needed so that you may upload your video.  After your video is uploaded, you then provide us the link to the file via email so we can download it and get to work.

Q. Should I compress my video footage before uploading it?

A. No, it is recommended that you leave videos uncompressed, or compress them with a "lossless" codec.  You CAN however compress the file using the .ZIP or .RAR format to reduce download/upload times.

Q. Do you do any 3D animation work?

A. Currently, we do not have any 3D animation services available to the public but may in the future.
