This site? Cottage Plans & More? It all started in Utah!

(our mirror site:  http://www.cottageplansandmore.com)

Oh, we lived there 10 years ago for four years due to a job transfer. It was and is such a beautiful state (great skiing, too!) .

On Saturday's, my husband and I would drive up with our three little ones to Bear Lake, Utah.

Ever heard of it?

Taken from their official website:

Bear Lake: The crown jewel is Bear Lake, a large scenic lake often called "Carribean of the Rockies" for its intense turquoise blue water. As visitors catch their first glimpse of the lake, they marvel at its color and wonder what makes the lake so blue. Sitting on one of its many white, sandy beaches, you can imagine yourself on your own little island.

Well, every single word of that is true ("pinkie promise!"). Breath-taking!

Needless to say, our drives up to Bear Lake were much needed after 5 days of work and with three little kids kindergarten aged and younger.

It was so wonderful to get away from the town's hustle & bustle.

We'd take this long winding up-the-mountain Ogden Pass road on a Saturday afternoon after a great honey-butter on fresh muffins and orange juice snack at The Greenery, a restored Victorian Spa located at the scenic Mouth of scenic Ogden Canyon in Northern Utah.

We drove around Bear Lake (the "end of the road" at the top of the mountain--and, Oh, yes!, we'd see live moose!). The view of the lake was breathtaking! The turquoise color--stunning! The beaches were pretty empty and the lake as well! It radiated peace & beauty.

My husband and I drove around staring at all the lovely cottages and homes overlooking the lake. It was then that we fell in love with the idea of possibly owning a cottage one day.

We grasped hands as we overlooked the wonder of tall pines (mmm! the scent!), gorgeous moutains, and turquoise lake...as our toes sunk in the scrumptious sand, and as the children giggled as they played....and right there and then we looked into each other's eyes and made ourselves a promise that in 6-10 yrs time we too will build a cottage up here, in fact, we even picked our our little spot on the mountain and marked it with a kiss.

So, that's my story! Ever since then my minds been racing around the idea of owning my very own cottage. And, I have been looking at and even dreaming up cottage plans. After all, it all starts with a dream, then a plan...then, action!

So, what's your story? And, will you seal that dream with action? At least,  seal it with a kiss of promise...that is a lovely start!

And, do me a favor and drop me a line about the cottage plans that YOU put into effect and the affect it had on your life! I'd love to hear it!

Best Wishes on your Cottage Plans!
