Welcome to the website of Cosmos Media, a new educational service created to support the teaching and research of Astronomy and the Space Sciences. Cosmos Media produces a range of publications, educational resources, in school activities and teacher training courses in collaboration with a number of partner organisations to provide a global outreach to encourage a deeper understanding of science and our place in the Universe.

MPs Call for Manned Space Funding
The UK has called for funding to be put into place for the training and sending of astronauts into space by joining international manned missions to the moon and Mars. Members of Parliament have argued the case for manned space exploration as a means of attracting young people into science with potential benefits for the space industry.

Solar Minimum approaches as the Sun loses its spots
Scientists are keeping a close eye on the Sun, waiting for the first sign of the appearance of sunspots. When spots begin to appear on the sun once again, scientists know that the sun is heading into a new season of extreme solar activity.
