A very common question. No you don’t have to paint the ceiling black before you create a Cosmic Ceiling. In fact it would be the worst thing you could do. The ideal surface to work on is a white/near white coloured surface.
Yes. A Cosmic Ceiling can be created on most surfaces – paper, plaster, artex etc. It doesn’t matter either if the ceiling is textured. In fact this can be an advantage
Yes, the paints are completely safe. They are water-based acrylics that are non-toxic, non-radioactive and odourless. They are ideal for using in children’s rooms.
This is one of the amazing unique aspects of a Cosmic Ceiling. Your customers will walk into the room after you’ve completed your job, look upwards and will wonder what you've been doing. A Cosmic Ceiling is virtually invisible. Unless you knew it was there you wouldn’t have any idea about the fantastic effect that awaits once you turn the light off.
I cannot imagine why anyone would want to intentionally paint over a Cosmic Ceiling. I appreciate however that people obviously want to re-decorate every few years and if so 2/3 coats of standard emulsion paint would cover the effect.
