Early Civilizations of India

The workers that worked on the railroad needed stones to anchor the truck they were laying down. The track they were putting down ran along the Indus Valley. It was linking cities and towns in the north and south. Workers used old bricks from a local old isolated abandoned house to help them with the tracks. The house was in a town called Harappa. The workers  found very tiny stone carvings when they were looking for bricks. The workers kept a few as curious objects but threw most of it away. They thought it would be a good idea because they could mean something in life.

        Indus Valley Civilization

In the 1920's archaeologists payed closer attention to the ruins at Harappa. This ancient culture is now known as the Indus Valley, or Harappa, civilization. Harappa was found to be the center of an ancient civilization.

The largest of the worlds civilizations was almost 1,000 miles extended from the Arabian Sea. It lasted from 2500 B.C to 1500 B.C..
