FAQ
Q. I live in Phoenix Metro area, how do I join Corrupt Crew? A. Corrupt Crew is a clique, and not like a team that you can sign a waiver and you're in. You have to know us, or you have to have a personal connection in order to get in.
Q. How come you guys don't wear camos or gear? A. Some us do, but most of us don't because we dislike milsim. We like to play "real life" versions of video games such as Counter-strike, Goldeneye 64, and other multiplayer first shooter video games.
Q. How come your videos don't feature milsim operations? A. Being highly organized, wearing look alike uniforms and carrying look alike guns and following orders isn't fun for us. We have nothing against the folks who do it, we just rather stick to doing "real life" versions of video games, or re-enacting movies.
Q. Where did you guys buy your airsoft guns? A. A variety of places: trinityairsoft.com and airsoftatlanta.com have the best selections. We also shop at our local stores: Gearbox Airsoft at Southern and McClintock in Tempe, AZ, and Arizona Paintball Depot at 28th Street and Bell Road in Phoenix.
Q. What's your favorite online airsoft retailer? A. Trinityairsoft.com is by far the best American based online retailer for airsoft! They have excellent customer service and tech support. They have a wide selection of guns, gear and upgrades, and best of all they offer SAME day shipping! Airsoftatlanta.com is another good site with affordable selection.
Q. How do I upgrade a Tokyo Marui VSR 10? A. Click here to visit my Marui VSR 10 section. Scroll down, it's the first topic on my airsoft page after the introduction.
Q. Is the Echo1 M14 R.I.S. a good gun? A. If you are a defensive player guarding an area and you want long range capabilities, it's the gun for you. It weighs 14 lbs and is hard to run around with. I recommend a bipod or foregrip for the bottom rail.
Q. Is the Echo1 M249 MkII a good gun? A. If you need firepower and are defending an area from constant attack then, yes this the gun for you!
Q. Is the m203 green gas grenade good in combat? A. Yes! It's good for cleaning out trenches. I learned that the hard way!
Q. How come when I post a comment on your video, it says comment pending approval and it doesn't show up. A. I filter ALL comments for SPAM, etc. Just wait a while and it will eventually show up after I approve it.
Q. I'm new to airsoft, what's a good first gun? A. Those cheap clear plastic airsoft pistols from Wal-Mart are your best bet. You can't go wrong with a $12 - $25 gun. If you discover airsoft isn't for you, you didn't waste much money. If you want to get more into airsoft, use your pistol as a sidearm.
Q. What's a good first AEG? A. I personally think ECHO is the best bet. They range in price from $115-$220, are 320-350 fps out of the box, include battery charger and high cap mag and are dependable. I feel the mp5, m4/16, ak74, and g36c are decent starter AEGs.
Q. How come newcomers should shy away from sniper rifles? A. That's an absurd misconception floating around airsoft forums run by 14 year olds who assume all newcomers are 9. Sniper rifles are generally the same price as AEGs so newcomers should definitely take look at sniper rifles. If you are new to airsoft and are interested in sniping, get a VSR10 and leave it as stock. If you have patience and get more involved with sniping, then plop down the $500usd on upgrades, and make or buy a ghillie suit. If you discover sniping ain't your thing, vsr10s have a good resale value.
Q. What's better? Systema, Marui, ECHO, Classic Army, Kart, etc A.
There are a lot of brands out there. I will construct a webpage to
help you decide which brand to choose. In the meantime feel free to
ask me through the YouTube e-mail client.
Q. Where do I buy a milspec ghillie suit? A. google "BDU Ghillie suit" The site I bought mine from went out of business. It is military grade made by Tru Spec and you can lay down for days and still feel comfortable. Just be sure you buy a suit that fits your environment, or mix in debris to make your suit blend in.
Q. Where do you guys buy your badass uniforms? A. BDU.com
Q. I'm 9-15 years old, am I I too young for airsoft? A. No, because that's the age range of most newcomers. Ask an adult you trust to help you make an airsoft purchase.
Q. I'm in my forties, am I too old to play airsoft? A. You can never be too old!
Q. How come the video Tokyo Marui Desert Eagle Chrome has its comments disabled. A. I got tired of filtering debates about real firearms, insults, and people who simply didn't get the joke at the end. All those lame and irrelevant comments undermined the mood of the video so I turned off the forum. Please PM me though if you have any questions about that airsoft gun though.
Q. Why do your airsoft reviews kick so much ass? A. This ain't a snob appeal, I've gotten variants of this question in my inbox. Most airsoft reviews on YouTube are kids using low res webcams in their messy dark bedrooms, the kid stammers, speaks in monotone and tells you info that you could easily look up on any airsoft retailer's website, and the kid never shows you how the gun works. Corrupt Crew does just the opposite. We generally use well lit areas, take the gun outside, fire it, have fun with it, do stunts or use it in a fun way, and we crack off more web based cultural references than Family Guy. We also place all specs in the video description. I'd wish more YouTube users would have as much fun as we do making airsoft reviews.
Q. What makes a good airsoft review? A. Please show the gun being fired! If the gun is more complex like a AEG, show where the battery goes, how to load it, etc. Stammering off specs is not why YouTube viewers want to watch your vid. They want to see the gun in action, so demonstrate with actions and not stating the obvious.
Q. What's the deal with orange tips? A. In America, unless you are a retailer, or you are shipping/ receiving the gun through Customs or a postal carrier, don't worry about it. Law enforcement will always assume the airsoft gun you have is a real firearm, tip or not. A misconception is that it is a felony and that you'll be put away for 20 years if you saw of your orange tip. That is ludicrous, especially in open carry states such as the one I live in where people posses real firearms in public. Only use airsoft products with willing participants and store all airsoft products as if the were real firearms.
Q. What happens if law enforcement interrupts our airsoft game? A. Follow all their orders. Most officers are well aware of paintball and airsoft so don't panic. Never point an airsoft gun at them or yourself. Just follow all their orders, because kids have been shot by the police by pointing airsoft guns at them.
Q. Is airsoft legal? A. It is where I live, but you'll have to look up your local laws. Most jurisdiction's legislatures have websites. Search through their firearms laws.
Q. What song did you use in ________ video. A. I'll PM you the song title and artist upon specific request. I follow Fair Use laws but You Tube's filters aren't advanced enough to tell the difference.
Q. How long have you done airsoft? A. I, the admin, has been doing airsoft since April 2003. Corrupt Crew has been around just as long doing stunts.
Q. What's your e-mail address? A.
Please e-mail me through YouTube. Go to
http://www.youtube.com/corruptcrew and hit "send message". Login
first, or make an account if you don't have one.
Q. Why do you have videos of both Jackass Stunts AND Airsoft on the same channel? A. The 2 go hand in hand, and my target audience is young and they like both subjects.
Q. Jackass stunts are not original, so why do you them? A. None of the blockbusters coming out of Hollywood are original either. Every movie seems to be a sequel nowadays because people like familiarity. The jackass style genre has only been around since the late '90s, so it's a genre that could still be expanded on, that hasn't been fully exhausted yet.
Q. How did you come up with the name corrupt crew? A. "Crew" came from the fact that this is a group effort. I chose "Corrupt" as our adjective describing our crew, because through the eyes of the mainstream, we are seen as immoral and crooked because we do crazy and fun stuff while sober.

The most frequently asked question of all time!
Q. Instead of pretending to be soldiers, why don't you guys join the armed forces? A.
I have gotten this question A LOT in person and online over the past
few years and it's kinda retarded. First of all, we don't pretend to be
soldiers, but we see ourselves playing a sport. Second of all, every crew member has very different
political opinions.
