UFO thoughts

by
Anthony Valasek
Unidentified Flying Objects, or UFO's for short, have entered
the mainstream thoughts of society today. There are multitudes of
theories surrounding the phenomenon, some theories more believable than
other theories. I guess I might as well throw my two cents into the
equation also, and that is probably all it is worth! What I am going to
present here is not necessarily what I believe, but will concede as
possibility.
When we look into some of the ancient civilizations we can see
many similarities to the flying saucers that we have become so
accustomed to today. The native Indians of America, mostly in the
Southwest, have produced drawings of strange beings along with drawings
of stars and planets to go along with the legends passed down from
generation to generation. Natives of South America also have similar
tales and legends. We can look to all nations and people of the world
and find strange tales and legends of mysterious beings from the
vastness of space.
As a Christian, I try to take a look at this phenomenon from a
religious standpoint trying to fit this into the divine plan for the
ages. First of all, I want to say that I do believe that something
definitely exists. What, who, or why are questions that remain to be
answered and I'll try to give it my little spin.
The first thing I want to mention is that the Bible says that
Satan is currently the god of this age and the ruler of this world
(John 12:31 and 2 Cor. 4:4). Now don't get me wrong here, Yahweh is
still in control, but he gave dominion of the Earth to Satan when Adam
fell into sin until Christ comes to reign forever. You may be asking
where am I going with this? I'll answer that as we continue, just keep
this point in mind.
Satan's first and foremost goal is to cause all people to
worship him instead of Yahweh. One of his best deceptions is that he
uses imitation of biblical concepts to deceive those who are not
planted soundly in the scriptures. I believe that this act of imitation
is paramount when we consider the UFO mystery. By the very nature of
the word imitation, some of you may be asking, "Does this mean that
Yahweh uses UFO's too?" Personally, I think it is possible that there
can be "good" UFO's.
Taking a few verses from scripture, we can see similarities
between what we now call UFO's and what the writers of the Bible
describe. When looking at these, we must remember that these writers
describe things that they see in terms and language understood at the
time of the writing. In 2 Kings 2:11-12, we see something that could be
a description of a UFO taking the prophet Elijah up into heaven.
2 Kings 2:11-12
And it came to pass, as they still went
on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and
horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a
whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried My father, my
father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him
no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two
pieces.
Next in Job 38:1 and Job 40:1, we find that God is
speaking to Job out of a whirlwind. Could this whirlwind be a spinning
flying saucer? Maybe, or it could be some sort of tornado, who knows?
If that isn't enough, there is plenty more. In Ezekiel 1:4, we find
another curious description of what me might today describe as a UFO.
Ezekiel 1:4
And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came
out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a
brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of
amber, out of the midst of the fire.
Now I want to take a look at these curious things called
cherubs that are scattered throughout scripture. Let's first take a
look at Ezekiel 28. In these verses, we can see that Yahweh describes
Satan as a cherub among the stones of fire. The phrase "stones of
fire", could describe the millions of stars in the universe. When one
looks at a star through a telescope, what does one see? A stone of
fire, don't you? Maybe Satan and his minions get around the stars in
flying saucers, only time will tell. I wonder if the cherubs'
transportation is UFO's?
Ezekiel 28
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that
covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of
God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created,
till iniquity was found in thee. 16 By the multitude of thy merchandise
they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned:
therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I
will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of
fire.
In Ezekiel 10, we run across these cherubs again. When
they speak of wings they may not have necessarily seen wings, but with
their limited understanding of flight would have assumed that they had
them. Notice too, that these cherubs are described as being between the
wheels as if the wheels may have been the forms of transportation. Does
not a flying saucer have the shape of a wheel in most instances? Read
this chapter carefully for yourself.
Ezekiel 10
1 Then I looked, and, behold, in the
firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over
them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of
a throne. 2 And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go
in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill thine hand with
coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter them over the
city. And he went in my sight. 3 Now the cherubims stood on the right
side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner
court. 4 Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and stood
over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the
cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD's glory. 5
And the sound of the cherubims' wings was heard even to the outer
court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh. 6 And it came
to pass, that when he had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying,
Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubims; then he
went in, and stood beside the wheels. 7 And one cherub stretched forth
his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that was between the
cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was
clothed with linen: who took it, and went out. 8 And there appeared in
the cherubims the form of a man's hand under their wings. 9 And when I
looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one
cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the
wheels was as the colour of a beryl stone. 10 And as for their
appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been in the
midst of a wheel. 11 When they went, they went upon their four sides;
they turned not as they went, but to the place whither the head looked
they followed it; they turned not as they went. 12 And their whole
body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the
wheels, were full of eyes round about, even the wheels that they four
had. 13 As for the wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing, O
wheel. 14 And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of
a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the
face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle. 15 And the
cherubims were lifted up. This is the living creature that I saw by the
river of Chebar. 16 And when the cherubims went, the wheels went by
them: and when the cherubims lifted up their wings to mount up from the
earth, the same wheels also turned not from beside them. 17 When they
stood, these stood; and when they were lifted up, these lifted up
themselves also: for the spirit of the living creature was in them. 18
Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the
house, and stood over the cherubims. 19 And the cherubims lifted up
their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went
out, the wheels also were beside them, and every one stood at the door
of the east gate of the LORD's house; and the glory of the God of
Israel was over them above. 20 This is the living creature that I saw
under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I knew that they
were the cherubims. 21 Every one had four faces apiece, and every one
four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their
wings. 22 And the likeness of their faces was the same faces which I
saw by the river of Chebar, their appearances and themselves: they went
every one straight forward.
Let us now jump to the appearance of Christ at his Second
Coming. We know from scriptures that the wicked will be destroyed from
the face of the Earth. Interestingly enough, some of the books of the
Bible that describe the Day of the Lord mention these mysterious
whirlwinds again and again. Could these whirlwinds be UFO's? Take a
look at these verses and ponder the thought. Only you can make the
decision as to what you believe however. There can be no doubt that a
technically advanced fighter such as a UFO if one exists could command
awesome power and means of destruction. Notice in these verses that
chariots (the means of transportation) are whirlwinds.
Isaiah 66:15
For, behold, the LORD will come with fire,
and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury,
and his rebuke with flames of fire.
Jeremiah 4:13
Behold, he shall come up as clouds,
and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than
eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.
Jeremiah 23:19
Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is
gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously
upon the head of the wicked.
Jeremiah 30:23
Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD
goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain
upon the head of the wicked.
Amos 1:14
But I will kindle a fire in the wall of
Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the
day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
Joel 2:5
Like the noise of chariots on the tops of
mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that
devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
The next thing I want to address is the issue of how UFO's
seem to appear and disappear at will right before a person's eyes. This
sort of thing happened to Elisha when Elijah prayed for him. Take a
look at 2 Kings 6:17.
2 Kings 6:17
And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray
thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of
the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses
and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
One of the most fascinating topics I studied during the
many physics courses I took while in college, was that of frequency and
wavelength. With just a little foresight, I could see that if a person
could generate the right frequency and wavelength through an object or
cause that object or even person to resonate at that frequency, the
object or person could become invisible to us or pass through solid
objects. Conversion to another state of energy by which the fabric of
time could be manipulated would also be possible. For those a little
less knowledgeable in this topic needs to just look at polarized
sunglasses. The sunglasses block out certain bands of light
(frequencies and wavelengths) making them invisible to us and enabling
us to see what lies beyond. Certain aspects of the Theory of Relativity
can also be included in this topic. Of course I would have no idea how
only one could see and the other couldn't, but I'm not God.
The last thing I want to address directly from the Bible is
the concept of the Rapture. I'm not going to get into the when, but I
will give you one possibility for the how. First let us read the
following scriptures.
Acts 1
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they
beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up,
behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye
men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus,
which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as
ye have seen him go into heaven.
1 Corinthians 12:2
I knew a man in Christ above
fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out
of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the
third heaven.
1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we which are alive and
remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the
Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Now just think for a moment about the many stories
surrounding the UFO abductions. In many of these instances, people are
reportedly being levitated up (caught up). If Christ and his army
returns in UFO's to destroy the wicked, could he not also use the same
means to conduct the rapture? This is just one possibility, not
necessarily how it will be.
At this point, I want to address the question, "Could we just
be the product of a superior race from another galaxy." I don't believe
this for a minute. My God is omnipotent and all-powerful. He could
appear in any form or fashion he wishes. I don't believe that the UFO's
that are followed are from another galaxy at all, but are just Satan's
little helpers helping the deception. Some of the atheist that I have
the chance to speak to, believe that we are just some sort of
experiment of another race. I think this is kind of humorous, because
this is just delaying the obvious question, "Where did the aliens come
from?"
At this point in time, I don't think that there are any "good"
angels flying around in saucers. What I believe is happening is that
the people who are consumed with this stuff are just being set up for
the big fall. All this talk about channeling through a medium as a
means to contact our alien friends is another lie from Satan, just more
of the preparation. What do I mean preparation for the big lie?
It doesn't matter whether you believe in a pre-tribulation or
post-tribulation rapture or some variant; the deception will be just as
effective for those not grounded in the word of God. Let us suppose for
a moment that a pre-tribulation rapture is the correct version. Here's
what could happen. Those prepared for the Lord will be raptured. Satan
would immediately put his plan of deception to work. Since many would
not know what happened or don't believe in God or Jesus Christ, a
massive UFO abduction would be very believable. In which case, Satan
could tell those who are left that they could also go to where the
others are, Satan's home world of paradise, if they would just follow
and worship him. The numbers that would follow would be tremendous.
Most of the people that I know that are heavily into the UFO phenomenon
are not Christians and would thus be easily fooled.
Now let us suppose that a post-tribulation rapture is in
order. In this case, it would be Satan that makes "first contact" with
the human race. Since many believe this stuff anyhow, no matter what
the Christians preach they wouldn't listen. The "I want the newest,
coolest, most high-tech widget on the market" people live and die by
that rule and wouldn't pass up this once in a lifetime chance to be
with a superior race. I think that many supposed Christians would also
be deceived. Looking for a better future, we humans would accept any
rules or regulations they would want to impose so we could get a piece
of that "greedy pie", which of course would end up tasting like "humble
pie." Remember that the Bible says that the deception will be so strong
that even the elect could be deceived (Mat. 24:24). That is if us who
are prepared for Christ's coming are here.
Something else I want you to think about. These abductions
that take place now, do you ever hear of Christians being abducted? NO.
Only those who truly believe that the UFO's are from another planet and
don't believe in Christ are the victims. If I'm wrong, I would bet the
percentage is very low, and I would question whether or not these
people really are Christians.
I want to take the opportunity at this time to reiterate that
I don't necessarily believe that this UFO thing is going to
materialize, but concede to the possibility. I hope that this little
essay has got your wheels turning, or should I say whirlwinds? I just
try to stay prepared, since no one really knows how the events
surrounding the Second Coming are going to take place exactly. The
biggest problem I have with this whole scenario is this. The Jews
simply won't accept a messiah not of Jewish heritage. On the flip side
to this though is this scenario, and this is my little twist on the
whole thing, at least I think it is original. Maybe, just maybe the UFO
deception is a deception within a deception.
What if Satan would use the UFO scenario first, then another
false messiah would appear in Israel to condemn the UFO's. A whole
bunch of people would buy into that one. Christians that are sold into
thinking that the false Christ is coming from another planet would
think that a second false Christ coming from Israel from the line of
David would be the guy they are looking for. This would fool both the
Christians and the Jews! Believing that just one false messiah will
appear could trap them. We must realize that he will return so that all
eyes will see him!
