Ride for Corinna's Angels is a motorcycle ride to raise
funds for research to help fight Spinal Muscular Atrophy(SMA).
SMA in a disease that affects the motor neurons of the
spinal cord and brain stem.
These cells are responsible for supplying electrical and
chemical messages to the muscle cells.
Without proper input from the motor neurons muscle
cells will not function properly.
Muscule cell will become smaller an cause muscle weakness.
Some childern with type 1 SMA die before the age of two.
