Copyright ownership: Is the source of all rights of usage in and to a work. A basic term of copyright is the life of the author/artist plus 70 years after their lifetime.

After creating your work put a ©(C inside of a circle), or the word Copyright, the year and your name. Example:  © 2008 Corinna A. Roberts

It is highly advisable the one Registers their copyrights with the Copyright Office. In the event that there is ever any question as to the ownership of the copyright, registering it will help prove who the real owner is.
