The Coppei (cop E I) Boer Goat herd was started as a 4-H/FFA project by our daughter Charlee in 2000. It didn't take long for the whole family to fall in love with the goats. Jake and Michelle (the parents) have joined in the Coppei Boer Goat venture now that Charlee's off to college in South Dakota.
Our herd consists of about 15 does and a buck or two. Because we are lucky to live in an area were there are fabulous bucks in easy driving distance we are able take a few does for outside breeding. The focus of the breeding program is meat production, so we are breeding each season to improve structure, volumn and capacity. We do some limited showing to see how our breeding program is working.
