WELCOME!

In 1990 the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles embarked on an ambitious 40 city national tour of the United States and Canada. Billed as the Turtles' first official "coming out of their shells" rock concert the show was to mark the Turtles' debut as the first ever Ninja Turtle rock group. Coming at the height of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' popularity the foursome stepped outside of their hugely syndicated cartoon show to take the music world by storm! However, performance after performance, their plans are interrupted as they sing and dance their way through a battle with the evil Shredder in an effort to prevent him from stealing all the music in the world and destroying it with his "lyric liposuction" invention: The Deharmonic Convergence Controller.

Produced, in part, by Pizza Hut - this ninety minute concert made of the rad and bad fighting machines featured all your favorite turtles: Donatello, Leonardo, Michaelangelo, and Raphaell along with news reporter and friend April O'Neil, Master Splinter, Shredder, the footclan and Baxter Stockman all singing and dancing to a theatre near you!

Rehearsing and opening in New York the concert premiered at New York's famed Radio City Music Hall and played to sell out crowds all over the US puzzling critics but enchanting kids and fans of the movies, comic books and Saturday morning cartoons. Featuring songs from the Turtles' platinum selling debut album including "Out of Our Shells", "Sing About It" and "Cowubunga", and awesome sets, lighting and choreography by Broadway veterans Eugene Lee, Jules Fisher, Peggy Eisenhower and Patti Colombo the show was a smash hit.

After an 11 month run and over 270 performances later the tour closed in New Jersey at The Brenda Byrne Arena on June 30th, 1991. Due to the small amount of information available on the web this site is a database for anything and everything you may want to know about the tour. Cowabunga dudes!
