Top Cat premiered on ABC during primetime on
September 27, 1961. Thirty half-hour episodes of Top Cat debuted on ABC
during the following year. On September 27, 1962 Top Cat was cut from
the primetime line-up and moved to Saturday Mornings. No new episodes
of Top Cat were produced for Saturday Mornings, but ratings improved
and Top Cat remained on ABC (and CBS) until 1969. Since 1969, Top Cat
was heavily syndicated and took part in The Funtastic World of
Hanna-Barbera
