MY oh MY!
Could there be any thing more beautiful to listen to than the voices of Angels.
But - unless we have died and gone to heaven to be thus blessed, we can immerse ourselves in the splendid voices of IL DIVO.
These young men are truely blessed with voices that move the soul, inspire the heart and transend the immagination.
To listen to them sing is like honey on your tongue, sweet liquid bliss of tone, melody, harmony and WOW!
That these young artists could be brought together to create such a sound was ingenious to say the least. Intelligence at its best. I applaud you.
Since purchasing my first IL DIVO CD, I have played it repeatedly just to bathe in the sultry ambience of the music. It's like being in a black skied evening in the summer letting the hot breezes flow over you, while you drift on the cloud of sound coming from their voices.
God has a way of bringing heaven to us mere mortals here on earth.
God bless them (IL DIVO) and bless God for the gift of them to us.
If you haven't already heard this wonderful group, I invite you to check out their website and to listen to them sing. http://www.ildivo.com I highly recommend their CD's, and don't forget their DVD ENCORA too. Magnificent is just a small word to discribe their performance. They are indeed on par with Andrea Bocceli, Celine Dion, and other virtuosos too numerous to mention.
Could there be any better?
What can one say but.....
Brava!...IL Divo....Encore!
Enjoy A Slice of Heaven!
I took this photo of the guys on April 22,2007 at our famous 'Garage' GM Place in Vancouver, B.C.
Their performance was nothing short of AMAZING! They continue to thrill the senses and raise the emotions to new heights. I was just sorry to have missed them last year with the legendary Ms. Barbra Streisand in Las Vegas. It was a supreme hit from all reports. How can one compare such fabulous talents on one bill.....NO WAY...When you're a fan ...you're a FAN!....Brava!!! And please come back to our fair city of Vancouver, B.C. again.
Ciao !
Ah, yes.
Doesn't it just remind you of that wonderful film in which John Wayne, with all intents and purposes, romances, subdues and conquers the Lovely Lady; Maureen O'Hara in "The Quiet Man" 1952 Republic Pictures Corporation. Plus a winner of 2 Academy Awards including Best Director.http://www.turnerclassicmovies.com But I'm not giving a movie review here just making a point. If we still had men around of that intensity and determination and backbone maybe just maybe some of us women would stop complaining so much.
Who of us could resist the brawny lad out to win his lady without first trying to steal her dignity or ask for the requisite "one night stand". One line in the movie quite simply made me giggle. The two characters are finally allowed to court, when Maureen begins to lambaste John about his behaviour towards her at the races. She then tries to take a swing at him under the watchful eyes of the Matchmaker; Mr. M. O'Flynn (Mr. Barry Fitzgerad).
Mr. O'Flynn intervenes quickly by stating to her ," Easy, easy, now, is this a courting or a donnybrook, ie: (a brawl). Have the good manners not to hit the man until he is your husband and entitled to hit you back!."
What! You say, shocked and dismayed.
You thought this was funny? Of course, it was and still is. Given the time and social mores and of course the fact that this is only a story; it was funny, and remember our 'brawny lad' was raised to respect women by a good Irish Mother. Later in the movie when she offered the switch in the fireplace to him, he kissed her instead. Could that man kiss or What!
Yet in todays society this is not funny and should not be. The battle of the sexes is not longer a pun. We have allowed ourselves to be fractured by what some say is their right to treat woman as things and second class citizens. But we were never created to be that, nor were our Men.
We have to our shame evolved into men and women who have no regard for dignity, honour, trust or even life. Our values have gone the way of the Dodo, yet we survive. And in doing so the miraculous happens. Along comes that man you have dreamt about with all the qualities you value.
He protects our cities, streets and homes, and our countries too. He teaches in our schools, coaches little leagues, and even cuts our hair. He can cook, clean and be a single parent. Run a Fortune 500 empire or maybe he's the one drilling a hole down the block on a hot summers' day, or still playing cowboy every time he leaves that chute. He heals our children and brings us flowers, he wittles wooden toys with ancient hands, rubs our shoulders after a hard day at work, he prays with you and changes your tires for you and he stands at towers no longer there........... crying.
Who's says Real Men Don't Eat Quiche!
It' the ones who AREN'T Real Men that Don't.
With all the bad news in the media we need to remember that men of this caliber still exist today in all walks of life not just in books or movies. If we can write about such men then it is also most likely that we have something more to base their realism on than mere imagination.
Ladies are you looking in the right places? Because these Men are out there. I found one and he's a doosy! We like nothing better than to take walks with our dogs, enjoy the outdoors, poetry, a good novel and laugh and enjoy the "Quiet Man" together on a rainy night or any night for that matter.
While of course my deary yells, "Woman! Where's me tay (tea)?"
Don't you just love these guys!
So for all you Men out there and the Ladies who have you or a looking for you here's a recipe I hope you'll enjoy.
So here's to all the brave buccaneers, rednecks and armani suits...........
