Everyone Has a Talent
Everyone has a talent,
some unique ability,
And finding and using it
is our responsibility.
Some talents might be hidden
and may not easily show,
But we need to discover them
so they can develop and grow.
Each of us is unique
and have talents that are our own,
If we fail to search for and use them,
they may remain unknown.
Failing to use our talents
would be an awful shame,
And if we don’t, we really
only have ourselves to blame.
The key to finding your talent
is in taking the time to pray
For guidance always to use it
in a very special way.
By offering up our talents
and special ability,
God will bless them and help us
to be the best we can be.

A Song in My Heart
A new day dawns as a steady glow
Brightens the morning sky.
The sun’s golden face starts to show
As birds awaken and fly.
A gentle breeze stirs the air
As life stirs all around,
And soon life’s song is everywhere
While dew sparkles on the ground.
Birds in the trees begin to sing
And songs of cicadas swell.
The music of nature can also bring
A song to my heart as well.
What joy it is to begin the day
With a peaceful, musical start,
Giving praise to God in a thankful way
For putting a song in my heart.

America is Singing
America is singing songs of freedom
For the fourth of July celebration,
Songs of pride that we reside
In this great and powerful nation.
America is singing songs of independence
Of all people, old and young,
For freedom to live in the land of liberty,
Songs are joyfully sung.
America is singing our national anthem
As the “star-spangled banner” proudly does wave,
And we pledge allegiance, one nation under God
In this land called the home of the free and the brave.
