Beautiful Moments of Joy and Peace

Excerpts

Abiding Hope and Love

When troubles and trials of life

Like winds are howling around,

A place that is quiet and sheltered

Is what needs to be found.

As in the hurricane’s eye

The destructive winds cease,

So also within the soul

Is a haven of calm and peace.

When the winds of fear and hatred

Rage and roar along their course,

Through prayer their strength is weakened,

As faith subdues their force.

There’s a safe, secure retreat,

A place down deep inside,

The center of life’s storms,

Where hope and love abide.

Dreaming of Love

Dreaming of love and a time and place

Where people of every nation and race

Can live together and get along

With peace in their hearts and a love that’s strong.

Dreaming of love and of hope and joy

With every little girl and boy

Living in safety without a care

And everyone always willing to share.

Dreaming of love in every heart

And each person willing to do their part

To make the world the best it can be

With no one in need and all people free.

Dreaming of love and awaiting the day

When Christ will return to show us the way

That Paradise can return it will seem

And perfect love will be more than a dream.

The Music of Creation

The heavens are filled with the glory of God,

the music of His love floats on a breeze.

The earth proclaims His power and majesty,

from the ocean’s depths to the loftiest trees.

Every mountain and valley, each forest and meadow,

are filled with the sounds of nature singing.

Creation rejoices with speechless voices;

praises throughout the land are ringing.

As the heavens rejoice and earth resounds

with the jubilant sound of His praise,

The sun spreads its warmth and radiant light

through its splendor of dancing rays.

A song of life, sung without words,

echoes over hills and up to the skies.

The wonder and beauty of all God’s creation

pour forth in melodious and joyful cries.

Sunrise

Tiny, delicate tendrils of pink

slowly creep across the skies

In a colorful transformation

as the sun begins to rise.

A gentle glow spreads until

the earth is suffused with light

As a new day dawns and the sun

chases away the night.

This spreading pastel radiance

signals the start of another day

As eyes are gradually wakening

and darkness is swept away.

The beauty of this golden orb

that is rising into view

Delivers warmth and brightness

when its rays come shining through.

The radiance of God’s love

can also fill our lives with light,

And transform inner darkness

into a soul that’s clear and bright.

The beauty and the warmth

of God’s presence then can start

To fill our lives with joy

as love dawns upon each heart.

Connie Arnold's new book Abiding Hope and Love will be a keepsake just as her first one was Beautiful Moments of Joy and Peace.

Connie has a way of putting her gentle thoughts together creating a special purpose in her poetry that delights the soul of the reader in all aspects.

From categories Hope; Love; Children; Music;to The Bible and to Nature; each section is filled with her heartfelt feelings from the hope of what a tiny raindrop can do when combined with a multitude of drops as it falls to water the earth, to the language of love. Encouragement is a poem in the children's section and shows the love and encouragement one needs to give the children.

Her language of music expressed in poetry shows her love for it and the need for it in our lives. My favorite section is on the Bible and the ode to Creation. Nature winds the book up with many good ones including Artistic Creation, the Wind and the Stars.

This book will be one you will want to have and one you will want to give as a gift to lift someone's spirit for it truly is filled with God's Abiding Hope and Love through her verses.
