Connecting Through Dance

Connecting Through Dance (CTD) ceased operations in the Fall of 2008 after eight years of helping people make a difference through dance.

Co-founders Gene Russo, CTD’s Program and Artistic Director, and Joan Schubin, CTD’s Executive Director, envisioned dance as way to make a positive contribution to the lives of others.  CTD allowed them to realize their dream through outreach to a variety of populations, including disabled children, International students, the elderly and others.  Over the years CTD involved hundreds of participants in a unique program for the blind and visually impaired and also made significant contributions to organizations engaged in helping victims of natural disasters, breast cancer survivors and other humanitarian causes.

We bid a fond farewell to the wonderful group of people who have demonstrated that we can all make a difference in the lives of others, even, or perhaps especially, through dance.

“When you learn to move your body on a note of music, it’s exciting.

You have taken control of your body, and learning to do that, you discover that you can take control of your life.”
