Your domain is vital so take your time to think about this name because your business's success can depend on this name. It may seem strange but unregistered domains are not secure unless you initiate the buying process. Do not type the domain in your internet browser and try and check if that website works. The only way to do this checking is via the proper way. Example, at www.queenplans.com, go to Domain Names > Register Domains. In the area titled "Enter a domain name", enter your domain preference, leave the .com selected and click on Search Now!. This will immediately tell you if your .com domain is still available, then it will suggest alternatives using other extensions (eg .net .org .info) plus will also suggest possible names which are available by adding 'my' or 'online' to the domain you searched. If you are not happy with the suggestions/results, think of another domain and try another search. If you find a nice domain name with a .org or .info extension buy that as well but never replace a .com as your first preference.

Domains are very cheap and I doubt that they will go any cheaper unless you get the domain free of charge or for a few bugs with the hosting account which is becoming very common. If you are thinking of building a new website, the first thing you should do is to secure the domain name. The registration process is very easy and not much investment is required. One last tip which I can share is to buy the domain for more then 1 year. Google.com checks for how long your domain has been registered. Since you will be having a new domain, you need to register for 2 or 5 years so that google will know that this is a serious business and that will result in a better position/ranking in search engines.
