When a newly formed rhythm and blues band was aked to perform at a local cancer charity event they decided that bigger definitely was better, and after calling in a lot of favours and coercing talented friends into fighting off stage-fright, formed a 'one-off' band to rise to the occasion. The theme for the performance would be the hit film "The Commitments", and Committed was born.

     After the overwhelming success of the 'one-off' gig, the members of Committed decided to take the band on the road. Much of the early Committed sound owed itself to the huge vocals delivered by the three female vocalists, teamed with a male vocalist, complimented by guitar, keyboards, bass and drums. Soon, the band's reputation was spreading, as a hard working, hard playing band, and Committed were becoming busier and busier, playing every weekend.

    Committed have inevitably gone through several line-up changes over the years, with only Benson of the original members remaining, but with their enthusiam and dedication, Committed have gone from strength to strength. The versatility of the band has improved over the years, but the style and energy of Committed has never changed. Classic soul lies at the heart of Committed, with songs such as Mustang Sally and Midnight Hour remaining firm favourites with people of all ages.
