Welcome Baby Kit (Alachua County Library District)

We liked the concept of the Welcome Baby Kits and appreciate the library’s focus and support of Success By 6. However, we are not sure that the kit has demonstrated value as an effective tool for engaging new parents. We recommend partial funding for this project and encourage the library to gather concrete measurement for this next year. For example, a similar, but much larger program in San Diego has had thorough evaluation. We encourage the library to seek funding from other community sources and not rely as heavily on United Way’s funding in future years.
