Adult Day Health Care

The volunteer team recognizes the value of this service for families struggling with the care of a disabled loved one. We are pleased to see that the new center director appears passionate and dedicated to the program, and the site visit volunteers clearly noted the cleanliness of the facility and the happiness of the clients participating in the program. However, there has been significant administrative and leadership instability, and program representatives were unable to demonstrate what impact past awarded funds have made or to explain how those funds were used. The process was very competitive and required the volunteers to invest the very limited funds elsewhere. We encourage this agency to work on a stronger business model, and we would like to see increased support from the parent organization. We also encourage the program to increase the number of private pay patients it currently serves to help offset the cost of providing services to those who cannot afford it.
