Geeks Unite Network

A consortium of podcasts for geeks, by geeks

About the Geeks Unite Network

The Geeks Unite Network is run by Raphael Soohoo (or just simply "Raph") and features many contributors. The network comes out of the different Geek topics covered by Raph (comics, sports, poker, TV, etc. etc.) and the limited nature of his intention for Geeks Unite! With the Network, each show is under the GU! banner, no matter the content, and does not neccesitate outside participation. Listeners are welcome to contribute, and guest hosts and interviewees will be on the show as usual.

Information about being on the show, or leaving feedback, is available in the Contact Us section.

About the original Geeks Unite!

Geeks Unite was a podcast that sought to unite geeks around the world. Be it comics, movies, gadgets, TV Shows or any other geekery, the geeks on the show talked about it and had some fun while they're doing it.

We are a 3rd Generation Comics Podcast.

Raph considered his show a third generation comics podcast, or as he liked to call it "tryin' to live up to a (expletive deleted)load of legacies". As the listener to a podcast which was inspired by another podcast, Raph felt he owed it to the others who came before him. Paying his dues, he also found it difficult to write in the third person. Seeing as how controversial a label this could be, Raph only labels himself with this, as he feels he needs to give credit to where credit is due.

GEEKS UNITE! SHOW SEGMENTS

  • Geek Cred: Whenever we have a new person on the show; listener, podcaster, or comic creator, we ask them about their Geek Cred. What's made them a geek. What do they geek out about? What makes them a member of the United Front?
  • Comic Book Commentary: Not a very common segment, Raph and Juan go in depth on a comic. It's been done for Civil War #6 (episode 1) and #7 (episode 2) and the Nightwing Annual (episode 5 part 1).
  • Guest Geeks: We have various listeners and fellow Geeks on the show including:
    • special co-host Dani
    • Ian Levenstein (Comic Timing podcast)
    • Mark (Battousai on the forum)
    • Jim Segulin (Raging Bullets podcast)
    • Brent Kossina (co-host of Comic Timing, host of BK's Bullets Segment on Raging Bullets)
    • Ryan Spano (SpanoMano on the forum)
Our intention is to have other geeks talk about themselves and their interests and unite with them over their interests and topics of the show.
