Come to the Stable

The Stephen Spalding Foundation

Our Funding Sources

Come to the Stable/The Stephen Spalding Foundation is a charitable organization.  We offer free psychological, emotional, and social assistance to survivor/victims of sexual abuse and to their families.

Although our founders and directors are lay Catholics, CTS/SSF is not affiliated with any church or religious organization.  We are ecumenical and non-denominational in our self-help approach and assistance to those in need.

Nonetheless, we acknowledge our faith and believe in the simple rules of charity, honesty, and kindness.

Survivor/victims of the violence of sexual molestation are men, women, and children from all walks of life.  As a result of crimes of this magnitude, they often suffer from the severe stress associated with losing a family, friends, home, job, culture and identity, and the fear of further persecution and retribution if they come forward with their stories.

We look forward to the day when Come to the Stable/The Stephen Spalding Foundation will be able to provide support to survivor/ victims with practical help and a range of healing options treatment and complementary therapies.

As with medical professionals, we believe in the tenet: Do no harm.

Come to the Stable/The Stephen Spalding Foundation is not a government agency.

We receive no Federal or State funding, grants, or loans.

Most importantly, Come to the Stable/the Stephen Spalding Foundation envisions a place where the survivor/victims of sexual molestation will be able to feel that their experiences are recognized and believed; where they can safely express grief and anger.

The healthcare framework that CTS/SSF envisions are found in European countries.
But these agencies, in particular, target refugees from violence and
victims of torture.

The damage done to children and vulnerable adults by pedophiles and sexual predators is similar in range and scope, according to medical professionals.  As a consequence, Come to the Stable/The Stephen Spalding Foundation has strategic
plan includes the following goals:

  • To develop property for a safe and supportive retreat center for
survivor/victims of sexual abuse in the United States. The cost
of respite care to survivor/victims and their loved ones is free.

  • Help survivor/victims heal the trauma and pain of their abuse as
they confront and document what happened to them as children
    or as vulnerable adults.

  • Provide practical assistance and therapeutic support in a safe
environment that will help all survivor/victims refocus on their
personal situations and lead more productive lives.

We value the generosity of our donors and volunteers.  To ensure proper use of what they provide, we stand for:

  • Integrity and transparency in our use of money and other resources;

  • Management with clear lines of authority and responsibility under
the governance of our bylaws and articles of incorporation; and

  • Cultivating good communication throughout our organization,
so that our work and our decisions benefit from expertise and
