Back in 2004, Philip travelled the length and breadth of Ireland to watch his beloved Fermanagh in the National League Campaign. It was during those winter months that Philip and Kevin, both of whom have a long affiliation with the music industry sat down and penned a song about the Fermanagh team. Little did they know that the next few months would bring the county to the brink of an All-Ireland Final.
Philip recalls sitting in Brewster Park on a summers evening in 2004 watching Fermanagh send the Royal county of Meath back down the N3, a late point had set Fermanagh up for a glorious summer at GAA headquarters in Dublin. That night the boys decided to go home and put the finishing touches on their song 'Cum on Fermanagh'.
Philip says it was always just a bit of craic but once people heard the song, it snowballed from there. Looking back now Philip remembers how the song became a great hit within the county and even got played in Croke Park the day the team defeated Cork. 'The craic and banter around the county was great that summer and the success of the team and the song went hand in hand'.
