Comedown

8/1/09

Good morning people,

This is Phil giving you that every-once-in-a-while updates that we all look forward to soooo much. Not really. Anyways, not many updates believe it or not despite not updating in nearly 3 months. The band is actually doing pretty good. Our latest practices have been tighter than they ever have been. If only we had a DAMN BASSIST. Seriously, I know that this is the 100th time I've said this in a blog, but me and Archie are as tight as we will ever be and we really need a bassist if we want to get some shows out and get the Comedown name unleashed upon the USA! So, if you are a bassist that happens to live in the Rochester, NY that has at least a few years talent and has at least a way to get rides to practice (it would be preferred if you had a car) please email us at o7studios@yahoo.com. Please. We are desperate. Moving on.

WE NEED A FUCKING BASSIST!!!! AHHHHHH!H!H!HHH!H! Ok....seriously moving on now.

The debut Comedown album still does not have an official release date, but I'm praying to god that its before 2010. I really want to deliver my promise of having this album released in '09. But I'm starting to doubt. AHH! We do have kind of an "unofficial release" that is actually going to be out in a few days. It's a little demo with the 4 songs we did at Watchmen with Doug White. We're going to start giving them out in public areas and at shows (which we will hopefully be playing soon) and at other events like the Mall, at Pizza Hut, in the Sewer, Behind a House, Everywhere! It's a nice little homemade release. I printed the inserts and burnt the discs myself . heheehe. Its pretty cool.

I need to find a way to get this site more publicity so I'm not pretty much blogging to myself on here. I guess thats all of the updates for now. I'll keep giving news as news comes, so look out for some hopefully positive updates pretty soon and hopefully some shows as well.

Until next time,
Phil

Good morning fans,

This is Phil giving you the usual update every once in a while on what is going on with Comedown. It really sucks because I write these blogs like at least a good hundred people are at least reading, but in all reality, NO ONE SERIOUSLY READS THESE BLOGS. Not even Archie our drummer. And me saying Archie our drummer obviously means HES STILL OUR DRUMMER! YAY! no, but seriously. Archie has returned to NY and in a few weeks I will be returning to NY and Comedown will be back to the classic lineup that we've maintained since 2004 when the band started. Not that we really have any choice, because we've only technically had 1 bassist and he lasted about half of a month. Oh, well. We can fuckin rock without a bass player....until we need to play live.

So....yes much news must be released. So I told you that Comedown's debut album was going to May and I promised you that for once in my life I was telling the truth......Well, because of a load of shit (Archie moving to Florida, then getting engaged, then not being engaged, then going to Las Vegas, then returning to Florida and Me moving to SC, getting engaged, then not being engaged, but now being KIND OF engaged), Comedown has been completely grounded from about March until about July 17th, when I return to NY. Once I return, Comedown will be back to practicing every week, we will continue working on getting the debut album released (which i will not be promising until i know FOR FUCKIN SURE that its going to be released, im not pulling this shit again....not that anyones crying over it), and hopefully we'll be booking some shows possibly for July/early August.

I posted our first MUSIC VIDEO that we made back in March for our song "Holy Symbol" up on the site (just in case you haven't seen it on our myspace). The full video is available to watch under the videos section on the site. Its not a bad video for us filming it in one day and putting it together mad quick to get it up. So if you wanna watch, its there. My uncle Matt Tharp of Tharp Multimedia filmed it, so you know its quality.

Well, thats about all the updates for know. Looking forward to moving Comedown forward, recording more music, playing more shows, and pushing the band a step forward. I have a feeling 2009 is going to be a good year for Comedown (even though its already half over...hehehe). Until next time,

Phil

Whoa. We have now entered a whole new year since the last update. And the greatest part about it is the fact that NO ONE READS THE UPDATES. haha. (seriously). O well. I like to pretend that Comedown has a million fans that read our updates. And thats the way its going to be. Deal with it. just kidding....(not really).

Anyways, quite a few crazy updates since the blog entry. Both good and bad, but mostly bad. And unfortunately, I'm serious. But the good updates are pretty amazing. First things first: After finally thinking that Comedown had found a permanent bass player(which should have sounded like a joke from the beginning hehe), we are back to the place we've been since 2004. NO BASSIST. AHHH. well, for now at least. Apparently(true story), Steven's parents think that Archie is satan himself, so they won't let him practice with us if Archie is there, which might be a problem because he's the drummer of the fuckin band(kind of, I'll explain that later). So long story short, Steven quit. I don't blame him. I'm hoping to steal him back after he reaches adult age(in two years.....shit). Until then, Comedown will probably recruit 500 more fill-in bassists. Whatever. It's what we do best  :) .

Second update: Pretty much I'm the only member in Comedown; Archie is taking a couple month break from Comedown while he's in Florida trying to pay off all the crazy debt he got into. I'm hoping he will return to NY and we can continue Comedown in its original incarnation, but theres more shit that might completely eliminate him from the band. I'm hoping it won't have to happen. I don't even want to think about Archie not being in the band. It's a terrible thought since its been me and him for 5 years now. Everything in that situation is just pretty fucked up, but I'm hoping it will all straighten out. Or else I'll be looking for a bassist and a drummer. And thats a thought I pretty much want to avoid. Because it won't happen. O well, NOW FOR THE GOOD SHIT. This blog will NOT be completely emo.

First amazing update: Comedown's debut album is actually going to be mixed, finished, pressed, and released in May '09!!!!!!! I know what your saying, "Yeah fuckin right. You've been saying that for years." Well, guess what bitch???? NO ONE READS OUR FUCKIN BLOGS. hahahaha. suck that! anyways, yes, its true. The album will be self-titled and it will be released on LDA Records. It's strickly going to be sold online and at shows, because we are lacking a label that will distribute us to stores. You can thank Tharp Multimedia for making it possible too(585-288-8628). For more infomation on the album, visit the albums page on this website. It's going to be strange album(in that whole good strange way). In other words, BUY IT....PLEASE!!! I'M BROKE!!!! haha. I'm dead serious..... :)   After the CD is released, I'll add a store page to the website with the album. It's only going to $5 per CD. Pretty cheap. Good deal. Anyways....continuing....

Last update:........actually thats it. Sorry this is the LONGEST fuckin blog ever, but THE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW. someday at least hehe. Well, until next time,

Phil

Hey,

I've decided that apologizing for lack of updates is getting old, so done with it. Just expect us to forget updating the site. Anyways....

Things are really going well for Comedown right now. We entered Watchmen Studios this past week and recorded four songs for a future album. The session went really well. The songs are really uploaded on our myspace, so make sure you visit www.myspace.com/comedownmusic and check out the new songs. Were going back in March to record another four and were eventually going to work toward about 15 songs for a future Comedown release.

There is a possibility that Comedown may have a full-time bassist(never thought I would see the day). My good friend Steven Goupil, who is also in another local band Atonement, might be joining Comedown on bass. If it does happen, it should work out really well. If it happens....

I'm hoping to get some EP's made and some T-Shirts and bumper-stickers and a whole bunch of shit made, and hopefully I can get a tour going pretty soon. New stuff is constantly happening, so check for updates every now and then, because I'm pretty sure the next update will be probably a year or so from now.

More soon,
Phil

Phil reporting.

Sorry for the delay in updates. My house currently does not have internet, so I'm writing this blog from another home. Many updates ahead....

We performed our first show on June 29th. It went really well, even though we didn't end up winning the Battle of the Bands. My uncle and fellow musician Matt Tharp filmed the event and is currently editing the show to post it up on YouTube. After we get the songs posted, I'll make sure to put a link up for viewing.

We're going to be performing another show on August 10th. Hopefully, we'll have many more shows soon. We might have a possible full-time bassist(it sounds way to good to be true), but don't get your hopes up. If he doesn't end up being full-time, he will at least be playing some concerts with us.

We just started recording And Nothing Less this week and the sessions are sounding really good so far. We'll have more updates about the recording process soon.

Well thats about it for now. Once we get internet at my home, I should get back into updating regularly. Until next time.

Hey,

Phil here as usual. I'm actually getting pretty good at this blogging thing. Well, June 1st is rapidly approaching(but not quite rapidly enough), and there are quite a few updates.

The best update is something you probably already know if you check our myspace or our purevolume, but I'm pretty excited about it. On June 29th, only a few weeks after I return to NY, we will be playing our first show. We are going to be playing at the Battle of the Bands at the California Brew Haus. The show will be from 4 to 10 PM on June 29th. For more information, visit the Shows section or go to our myspace and click on Upcoming Shows. Its going to be a great time. A lot of great bands are going to be playing, so make sure your there. Its going to be awesome.

So thats definitely gonna be crazy. My good friend Paul will be filling in on bass since we still don't have a bassist, and hes a great musician, so everything is going to be amazing. As you can see, me and Archie are really going to be working hard to make-up for all the time that was lost while I was stuck in SC. Hopefully, this show will be the start of many things to come. This winter we will be going into O7 Studios(my home studio that seems to improve everyday) to record our debut album "And Nothing Less", and I'm hoping good things will come out of that, too.

The last update is some more awesome news. This October, I'm going to be entering Watchmen Studios in Lockport, NY to record some tracks for a future album that has not yet been named. Recording in a "real" studio will be great and I'm really looking forward to hear Comedown recorded with a slicker, and more produced sound.

Well, the rest of this year seems to really be looking up for us. Thank you for your continued support and I'll be back soon with hopefully more great updates.

Hey.

Phil here. I'm here with quite a few updates....First of all, I visited NY last week for the first time since Summer 2007 and it was amazing. Me and Archie were able to hang out and discuss everything thats going to happen with Comedown when I move back and all I can say is I can't wait to move back. The visit was amazing and I'm hoping these next few months fly by.

Me and Archie have finally decided that he is going to stay on drums. He will definitely be perfect for drums. That means that we still need a bassist and I know that this is the Millionth time I've said this, but......if you are a good bassist in the Rochester, NY area, PLEASE e-mail us at o7studios@yahoo.com. I won't be until June that I move back, but I want everything perfect for when I get back.

The people that visit this page(which is probably no-one...haha) probably already know this, but I just added a Photos section to the website and it has a good bunch of photos in there. Most of them you have already seen, but the page has every promo photo of Comedown and even a few casual pictures. I'm pretty sure theres photos that I missed, but I'll keep adding as I find them.

I've finally decided which album I will be releasing as Comedown's debut album and it is going to be "And Nothing Less". For more information on the album, just visit the albums page. Even if we don't have a record label, I'm going to TRY to have the album available to buy before 2009(but don't get your hopes up). Just continue hoping for a record label.

Well, thats all I have to say. But I'll be back soon for more updates. Whoever reads this blog, I deeply thank you.

Phil

3/5/08

Hey.

Phil here with the first official Comedown blog, even though the site has been up for a little over a year now. Yeah, thats pretty bad. Oh, well.....Anyways, a lot of crazy things are happening and I felt I should let all you Comedown fans know about it(yeah, all 3 of you. ).

Well, its official....After being in SC for almost 2 years, I am finally moving back to NY in June and reuniting back up with Archie. I will taking Guitar and Vocal duties and Archie will be joining me on either bass or drums. We haven't decided yet, but I do know that Comedown will finally be able to practice as a full band and hopefully start playing some shows during the summer.

I'm still not giving up on finding a record label, but I'm going to wait until I get back to NY before I take serious action towards it. I seriously have over 4 albums worth of songs waiting to be released. PRAY, yes I said pray, that we find a decent record label, because we've been trying for a long time with no success.

Well, thats about it for now. I'll try to update this blog WAY more often, but don't count on it. Until next time.

Phil
