Max
Max's story:
Max was picked up by the Wellingborough police as a stray and taken to Longland Kennels at West Haddon, a private kennels which takes in strays for the police. On arrival, he refused to walk another step and was carried to his quarters ! He was underweight to the extent that the vet could not castrate him until I had built him up a little. I was looking for a dog at the time. Max was taken into the kennels on the Friday, and I turned up the following day. One week later, I took him home. He was a nervous little chap, frightened of raised voices, sticks, loud noises, newspapers, bottles, but retained his zest for life. He would eagerly wait for his collar to be put on and just as I was about to put it over his head, he would cringe down to the floor, One day I accidentally dropped the lead near him, and again he cowered to the floor.
How much do you want?
Since those early days, he now has his Good Citizen Gold, has been a PAT dog, loves “have-a-go” agility, has a huge repertoire of tricks (although a year ago he decided he need no longer do these unless he really wants to). He has come first in Most Handsome Dog, Most Appealing Eyes, Best Companion Dog.
