In the beginning, there was nothing. On the first day (insert the story of creation here, adapt it as you will)...

On the eighth day, God was tired of the boringness of life, so He decided to spice it up. Therefore, He decided to create a marching band.

First, He created the DRUMLINE. Once He heard them play, He covered his ears and ran screaming into space. Unfortunately, He could not undo His creation.

On the ninth day, He created the BRASS instruments. Thinking that this was the epitome of good music, He ordered them to play. Again, He ran screaming.

On the tenth day, He created the WOODWINDS. Fearing that He had done worse, He ordered them to play and sat cowering in a corner. He was surprised that they actually sounded decent (compared to the others).

On the eleventh day, He decided to put all of His musical creations together. When He asked the band to play, mass chaos ensued, and everything when haywire. So, He made a person to create order within the band... the BAND DIRECTOR.

On the twelfth day, the band director was completely stressed out and on the verge of a nervous breakdown, not to mention that he had never heard of a "water break", so God created DRUM MAJORS to keep things running smoothly.

On the thirteenth day, He noticed that his band was a little disorganized and a bit rag-tag.  He then created BAND PARENTS, who could whip things into shape (in the way of $$$!)  They took it upon themselves to create BAND BOOSTERS, so they could always keep tabs on the band.

On the fourteenth day, after two weeks of hard work, God looked around at what He had created.  Before Him was a marching band rivalved by no other.  They could play and march, and they sounded pretty darn good.  BUT... He knew something was missing.  This marching band just didn't have life.  They were precise and accurate in their marching and playing, but there was no creativity and expression.  They needed something more.  So, God decided to take a rest, sleep on it, and see what He could come up with in the morning.

On the fifteenth day, God had it!  He had thought of something that was so brilliant, it would take Him more than one day to create.  But, He got busy... He created a group of talented young performers who weren't afraid of flashes and carves, and who weren't scared of walking into the local hardware store asking for guard tape... the FLAG LINE.

He also created a specialized group of young people called the WEAPONS LINE, who performed with rifles and sabres.  Their intent was not to harm others, but to awe the audience with their amazing spinning abilities.

He next created a person who was extremely dedicated to the weapons and flag lines.  This person possessed incredible creativity and talent, and was able to coordinate 20-something people and their flying equipment!  Although this person had never heard of democracy and believed in the value of pushups and laps around the field, they did it out of the goodness of their hearts.  They held complete faith in their weapons and flag lines.  God called his creation the INSTRUCTOR.

Over the next few days, He instilled in his creations the desire to win and the determination to excel.  He made all of them tough, so that they wouldn't give in to pressure (and so that they could keep going even after being whacked by a flag or rifle).  He made them flexible, so that they were always open to new things.  He gave them the ability to bond like family and to have more fun than anyone else.

On the twentieth day, after nearly three weeks, God stepped back from his latest creations and looked at what He had created.  This group was already friends, and had already started asking when they could perform.  Together, He called his creations the COLOR GUARD.  He was mesmerized by their incredible talent and said "These people are BY FAR THE BEST."

On the twenty-first day, God put the colorguard together with the band and watched as they marched and played, spun and tossed.  The show was stunning... it was full of expression and enthusiasm, not to mention talent!  Their performance was more than He had ever hoped for, and the best part was that all of His creations were so happy to be there, doing what they loved.  He called His group the MARCHING BAND.

And that is the story of creation.
