Colorado Poultry Association

The Colorado Poultry Association was formed to encourage the raising of purebred poultry and to provide pleasure and enjoyment for people with a common interest. The organization began by holding meetings in the homes of members, from all walks of life, in the late 1930's. Most raised poultry as a hobby, some for income.

As in the beginning, the meetings are still threefold in purpose. The Business portion is preceded with a Pot Luck Dinner and followed by an Educational Session.

Club members have historically enjoyed sponsoring the Poultry Show at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo. They enjoy working to encourage the care and showing of poultry all across the State of Colorado in county shows as well as participating as members of the Rocky Mountain Feather Fanciers, Rocky Mountain Pheasant and Waterfowl Breeders Association, Pike Peaks Poultry Association, and the Southern Colorado Aviculture Society.

With history rich in poultry raising, the CPA is still in existence and has had members serve the entire area as District Directors for both the American Poultry Association and the American Bantam Association.

Meetings for the Colorado Poultry Association have been held at the Barr Lake Nature Center, however, the meetings will now move to different locations to allow other members who cannot travel the distance to Barr Lake to have a meeting closer to home. Please check with website to be sure as to where the meeting will next be held.

You are invited to join the Colorado Poultry Association, and become part of our poultry hobby in the state. Dues for one year are $10.00 for a family, $8.00 for an individual, and $5.00 for a junior (age 5-18 yrs)
