So you are a new comer to the island.

In the time before time, there was an island paridise. a great being came to guard the island and the tuhunga loved and honered him because of his goodness. However one day, his Evil brother Makuta came upon the island and institly became jealous of his brother. one day Makuta cast a spell upon Mata-Nui causing him to fall into a deep sleep. Makuta's anger grew as the Tuhunga refused to "worship him", so he sent great evils upon them. the tuhunga placed their last hopes in a prophesy that six mighty heros would come and permently destroy Makuta to bring peace and harmony to the Island.

   The Toa, six mighty warriors, came to the island  in mysterious pods. They each had their own masks of power, along with their elemental strengths. Tahu, Toa of fire, Onua, Toa of earth, Pohatu, Toa of stone, Kopaka, Toa of Ice, Gali Toa of water, and Lewa, Toa of earth. Each Toa lived in the Wahi (land around the Koro). They were each greeted by a villager curious of the pods that transported the Toa to the Wahi, and to Mata Nui. The toa each were brougth to the Turuga, the village elders, who told them about their mission. They were to search for the masks of power, which they would use to defeat Makuta. However, they didn't think that Makuta's Rahi would by guarding the masks.

As the Toa gathered more masks, Makuta's anger exploded from the island, causing the Toa to use their elemental powers more then ever. finally the time came when the toa had collected all twelve masks; as they walked to the Kini-Nui an army of Tuhunga proposed to guard the temple to keep it safe for their return. The Toa walked to the center and put the key pieces in the proper places. They then were sucked into the temple, where they became the Toa Kaita, their new forms were supposed to help them in fighting the guardiens of Makuta, the Manas. the Toa Kaita finally destroyed the Manas, and slowly made their way to Makutas chamber. Makuta was said to be a raging beast, but the Toa found him as nothing more then a mere Tuhunga wearing and infected Hau. Mean while a young tuhunga also came to the chambers. and saw Makuta. As Makuta stood, there he said, and I quote "while the villagers are builders, they all have the power to destroy. I am that power. I am destruction." he then turned into an explosion of strange parts, and attacked the Toa. However, the Toa new that the only thing that could defeat Makuta was their unity. so they all combined their powers and delivered a blow so powerful that, "even Makutas Rahi were crushed with its force".

As the Toa were mysteriously transported to the surface of the island, Takua crawled out of the remains of Makuta's remains that had entageled him. he found a new door that lead into a seemingly endless chamber. He looked closely at one of the many pods upon the wall, then it exploded open as a strange creature came out. This was one of the many Bohrok, a new evil that would be the final monster the toa would face. As Takua was transported back to the surface, the ground shook with a sound the Matoran (the new name of the Tuhunga) had grown used to: the sound of destuction. Lehvak destroyed the Icy land of  Ko-Koro with blasts of acid. Tahnok fire, Pahrak, mountain destruction, kohrak, ice, nuhvok earth dwelling, gahlok water. They had one mission: destroy all civilization and return Mata-nui to it's before time. The Toa soon learn that even their powers can't compete to that of the bohrok. So the Toa must rely on trickery and their skills to defeat these monsters.
