KAP AVIARY

This purchase (adoption) agreement pertains to Cockatiels bred, banded and hand-raised by Kalpesh Patel and/or KAP Aviary. If banded, The birds will have bands beginning with KAP followed by year and band number. Those birds come with a 90 day health guarantee. This health guarantee is only valid if the KAP banded birds are examined by a board-certified, avian Vet within 3 days of delivery. You must provide Kalpesh Patel with the results of the examination by mailing a copy of the paperwork from the Vet visit, within 5 days of the examination. Otherwise guarantee will be void.

Birds hatched and raised at KAP Aviary are guaranteed to have no major viral, bacterial or fungal issues at the time of purchase. If you own birds besides those purchased from KAP Aviary, you must quarantine all new birds in an airspace separate from your other birds. This quarantine should be observed for a minimum of 45 days, however 60-90 days is preferred. If a bird you acquired from KAP Aviary becomes ill or dies within 90 days of purchase, I will only refund your money if a board certified, avian Vet determines that the medical concern originated from my aviary. In other words, it must be evident that the bird(s) had the illness, virus, fungal or bacterial issue prior to the date of delivery. If a KAP Aviary bred and banded bird dies before the 90 day health guarantee expires, you MUST have a necropsy and histopathogical examinations/test. The results must include the bird's band number and be provided to me. I will then submit the results to my vet who must concur that the issue originated at KAP Aviary.

By accepting delivery of birds from KAP Aviary, you agree to not hold KAP Aviary nor Kalpesh Patel responsible for any losses of your current or future avian population. Accepting delivery of birds from KAP Aviary also indicates you understand that adding birds from other flocks exposes your existing birds to potential health/medical issues. You agree to slowly acclimate the birds from KAP Aviary to any dietary changes. Currently, the birds are accustomed to being fed a 50% Tropimix diet, with a 50% Hagen parakeet seed blend. The birds are also given a rotation of the following fresh foods throughout each week: brown lentils with brown rice, fresh sprouts, various legumes/beans, kale, , grapes, apples (No seeds), 100% whole wheat bread, broccoli, as well as shredded carrots. They are currently fed Hagen Premium Lovebird/Cockatiel Tropimix mixed with 50 % Hagen VME Budgie seed. They have never been fed any other brand of pellets, so careful, graduated transition to another brand is important. When changing the diet of any bird, you should monitor weight closely to identify problems early. You agree to feed KAP Aviary Cockatiel’s a balanced diet. These birds are accustomed to weekly/daily mists via a spray bottle.

This health guarantee does not cover medical/health problems or deaths that occur from accident or negligence. Kalpesh Patel or KAP Aviary is NOT responsible for any medical, veterinary or related expenses incurred due to the illness of the bird(s) purchased from this aviary. You agree to contact Kalpesh Patel should you have questions or concerns. You also agree to give Kalpesh Patel/KAP Aviary FIRST option of repurchase should you no longer be able to keep the birds you have acquired from KAP Aviary. A signed copy of this agreement will be kept on file at KAP Aviary. Remember, accepting delivery of birds from Kalpesh Patel and/or KAP Aviary establishes that you accept all terms of this Sales Agreement & Health Guarantee.

Failure to follow the instructions, or meet the conditions listed within this agreement VOIDS THE HEALTH GUARANTEE.

NOTE: This 90 day health guarantee is not transferrable to KAP Aviary birds acquired from other breeders or pet shops.
