Wow, It's been almost a year since I last updated on Cobalt. This summer he spent his days at a small private farm in Pungo. I rode him fairly often, but the summer time is not my most favorite time to ride because of the heat. So we leased him out and he now has regular lessons twice a week. We also leased him out because I would be off at college where I'm at now, and wouldn't be able to ride him as often. I'm able to ride him on the weekends and always miss him during the week. Cobalt is now at another small farm in Pungo where I ride him when I'm not a college. It's mostly a dressage barn so there's no jumps nor an indoor ring, I'm hoping that they'll atleast get some jumps out there soon. The good thing is there's lots of trails in the woods, something that's fairly new to Cobalt. Since he's 7 years old now, he's a lot tamer and doesn't spook as easy. We also have a better bond than we used to.

November 21, 2004: Cobalt has been doing great. His leg is
100% healed and he is back to his normal routine. He loves his
turn out time after being deprived of it for so long. He feels
like a dream to ride now, even better than when I first got him.
He flows really smoothly over the ground and is very collected.
He doesn't like being riden though, and he hates cantering. He
does enjoy trail rides and is very calm in scary situations.
He loves the new farm and has a much better attitude. Cobalt has
a very unique personality, he's very smart. This winter will be
spent bringing him back up after such a long break and getting him
ready to show and to take to college.

August 28, 2004: This summer hasn't been much fun for me horsey-wise, but on the other hand Cobalt loves his new place. The lady who owns the farm is riding him for me because sometimes he can act crazy and I'm just sick of it. He's going to the vet very soon to see how his leg has recovered. I think it will be a good check up, but if it's not and i have to do this re-hab thing again for a 4th time then i don't know what im gonna do. So wish us luck.

June 4, 2004: I am moving Cobalt to a new farm today, it is much smaller and has a big brood mare stall for him with a little place where he can walk outside from his stall. I think it's going to be much better for both of us. I start walking Cobalt under tack next week, then slowly will progress to riding him. His recovery is taking a long time but I hope it's for the best.

April 10, 2004: Yesterday Cobalt and I took a trip to our vet's office for a re-evaluation of his tendon. After 3 months of babying his tendon it's.....worse. I was really surprised but he took off many times during his hand walking sessions which may have been the cause of the worse inflamation and now some torn fibers. It's going to be another 6 weeks of 3 hour turnout, 20 minute handwalking, leg wrapping, and lots of parelli for fun until next visit. I hope his next evaluation is better. I won't be able to show him this season, something i was really looking forward to doing, but im going to start weekly lessons on school horses with my pony club trainer and dressage trainer.
