Since I last updated I have been riding Cobalt a lot more than I used to. I didn't take him to college because I'm only 30 minutes away from the barn still. Beause of college I can only ride him on the weekends and we have a woman that's leasing him to keep him up to par. I haven't shown him at all in a while and would really like to show him in the easy winter shows. The only problem is the new barn we're at doesn't have any jumps to practice with. Cobalt's manners and disposition are a lot better thanks to Debbie, the woman that lesses him. She spends a lot of time training him and it makes a huge difference. Cobalt and I's bond is a lot better now than it used to be. He knows it's me when I call his name because he'll come trotting or cantering up to me from wherever he is in the field and follow me around like a little puppy dog. He still hates being ridden in the ring, and so do I, so I mostly ride him in the fields and trails.

So surfing season is pretty much coming to an end although I still get
out once in a while. That means that riding will be starting back
up again. I have alot of plans for this season until I have to go
to college. I plan on riding Cobalt much more often than I have
been, getting him back into his normal routine. I may be able to
show him in some Equitation and/or Pleasure divisions this winter but
I'm not sure if he'll be ready. By spring I hope to be jumping
him and by summer I want to show him in the hunter jumper
divisions. Pony Club wise I'm not sure about. Putting him
into eventing shows may be way too much right now but I think he can
handle the lessons, I really want him to learn dressage. I'm
definitly planning on taking him to college with me, it just depends on
where I go and if I can trust the place he'll be staying at.
That's all for now!

It's been about a year since I last updated(i was 16, now im 17). To read about last year, scroll down.
Since the middle of my junior year, i havn't been able to do much with Cobalt. I'v gone through the rehab process with him for about 7 months and it's taking it's toll on me. So, i have found other things to do in the meantime. Instead of spending my summer at the barn, iv spent it at the beach, surfing. It's great to have something else i like to do while Cobalt is getting better, i thought i was gonna go crazy with boredom. The biggest horsey thing(or the only thing horsey) iv done this summer is go to the Pony Club championships in Kentucky. That was exciting...not. I was stuck doing quiz. We got 11th place though, which actually was pretty good. I havn't missed being at the barn during the summer that much. I don't miss sweating all day, wearing hot leather chaps, getting dusty and wet. Nope, not at all. It's been good having a break. Once school starts though, i don't know what's gonna change, I'll most likely go to the barn everyday, i like riding in the colder months better. So that's about what i'v been up to. Keep checking back for updates.

Hi, my name is Lauren. I have been riding since I was 7 years old and I am now 16. I used to ride school horses when I was younger, then I leased a horse for a little over a year. I stopped riding from 12 to 14 years old because I was involved in so many activites, but I always wanted to go back to riding. So finally, I chose riding as my main focus. I also play the acoustic guitar, I work out as much as I ride, and enjoy photography(most of Cobalt's pictures on this site were taken by me). I ride Cobalt 5-6 days a week and show him in Pony Club and Hunter shows. I also work with him on Parelli. My favorite discipline is jumping, wether it be hunters, jumpers, or cross country, i love to jump. Im also into natural horsemanship although i don't get to spend alot of time practicing the techniques as much as I would like to because of school. My goal is to be a good rider in general, not a world champion like what most people want. I want to have the skills to ride any horse and to have a happy relationship with horses.
