7/17/2008 New template, and all cars up on the site, except for "projects" and parts cars. There are more pages than the ones at the top. Evidently the header does not have room for all the text. All "stripes" in the header are a page.

Welcome to my little Diecast site! My name is Eddie and I collect 1:18th scale diecasts. I collect on the lower end of the spectrum, Maisto, Bburago, Yat Ming, MotorMax, ect. I stick to low-end models because I detail and/or modify each one I get, or at least, I used to. Time does not allow me to do so much anymore. I have detailed and/or modified over 150 so far, and always have a few projects in various stages of completion.
I began collecting Diecasts in 2001 when I purchased a Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing at the local Big Lots. It kicked around for awhile until I tore it apart and decided I could add alot of detail to it. That's how the nightmare began.
I began building plastic models when I was a kid. As I got older, I began detailing them and adding parts from other models. As I learned more, they got more complicated and I lost interest in them, especially the body. I was, (and still am not) very good at painting the body, so I ended up with lots of detailed engines/chassis in boxes with unpainted bodies. Discovering Diecasts was a stroke of good luck. I stumbled upon 1:18th scale cars. They are already painted. They are bigger than the 1:24th/1:25th plastic models I was used to working on. Most, if not all of the parts that are supposed to open, open! I can detail them without having to worry about painting the body. I do an occasional repaint, but I try to avoid them.
Look around, enjoy yourself and hopefully, you'll find some models you like and enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed working on them.
