Coalfield Morgans is located on 160 acres in southeastern Saskatchewan near Estevan.  Terry is a dragline operator for Luscar Coal and Sharon has a full time job just looking after the horses.

We bought our first Morgan at an auction sale in 1989.  Kotara Image was a pretty little mare headed for slaughter because of what the owner termed as behavior problems.  Terry took one look at her big beautiful eyes and had to have her.  After purchasing her, we found out she was in foal to the Morgan Stallion, Julie's Rogue.  She turned out to be a great riding horse and excellent broodmare.  It was 'Tara' and her foal that convinced us to raise Morgans instead of Quarter Horses as originally planned.

In 1990 we bought our first Morgan stallion, Riel's Rebellion and the mare Trixie Dixie.  In 1991 saw the purchase of two broodmares who were full sisters, Digger and Come By Chance.  We then decided to add some 'color' to our broodmare band with the pruchase of two palomino mares, A Dreamer's Godenrae and Day Dreamer Golden Sunset.  In 1996 we added the palomino stallion, Day Dreamer's Golden Skye to our breeding program.

Sharon has always dreamed of raising buckskins and in 1999 that dream was realized with the purchase and long awaited arrival of Mil Ric Saxon, a buckskin stallion from Ruth Goeb of Coachman's Rest in Pennsylvania.

In 2004, on a visit to Sharon & Anita Gartner of Sunhill Acres, we saw Pal-A-Mor's Goldhawk and on learning he was for sale we decided to buy him because we felt his bloodlines would cross nicely with ours.  Our goal is to raise typey, big boned individuals with good dispositions and conformation.  If they're Buckskin or Palomino, that's a bonus.
