Community Problem Solving

Welcome to The Galvin Middle School's Community Problem solving Website

"Peek Inside Pequitside"

Community Problem Solving (CmPS) is a competitive program in which teams identify a local or global problem, and work with community leaders and residents to research the problem and implement solutions.  This organization is designed to allow kids to have fun while helping out in their community. It takes a lot of effort to be a community problem solver, but it's very rewarding.

For the 2007-2008 school year, our group has chosen "Peek Inside Pequitside " as our project.

Pequitside Farm Conservation Area Pleasant Street, Canton MA, is a town-owned site that is open to the public, but not used to its full educational or recreational potential. We would like to make Pequitside Farm more “user-friendly” to visitors, so they will use it more often, particularly as a way to learn about nature and the outdoors first-hand rather than from a book.

We welcome your comments, so please see our blog page (listed above).

See What We've Done!!!

The Entire Town of Canton and its surrounding communities are invited to see what we have been doing since September. To learn more about are most important event, go to the Upcoming Events page on the tab bar to the right.

We did it!! At the state championships, We came in first place in the juinior division of Community problem solving. We were so happy that we have the best juinior division project in all of Massachusetts. Because of this amazing triumph, we are going to the International Conference in Michigan! On may 28, we get to compete with teams from all over the world, where we can present our projects. These other teams have won the championships in their own states or countries. This will be a great oppurtunity for us to learn about people from around the world.
