Central Mass Onstage announces auditions for its fall show, the musical "Gift of the Magi". Based upon the OHenry stories, the show takes place at Christmastime in New York City. In addition, CMO will audition for its new Chorale and Dance Troupe, whose first performance will take place with the Gift of the Magi performances. The performances will be held November 20-22, 2004 at Anna Maria College. Talent of all ages is needed.
The "Gift of the Magi" cast consists of six characters. "City Him" and "City Her" are characters that depict all of humanity, as they portray many different characters. William or Wilhelmina (male or female) is teenage newspaper carrier, who is the narrator of the show. Jim and Della are a married couple who are the main characters of the show. The sixth character is named Soapy, a comical homeless man who is always trying to get himself arrested, just to have a warm bed to sleep in. All six roles require singing individually, duet and ensemble.
Auditions for the show and Choral\Dance Troup will be held at the Rutland Library, Main Street in Rutland on Thursday September 23 at 7 PM. Friday September 24 at 7 PM and Sunday September 26 at 2 PM.
