The mission of Central Maine Riding Association is to promote safety, sportsmanship, and diversity in the show ring and in all other riding activities. We encourage members, as well as all equestrians, to respect all breeds of horses and riding disciplines. Our season's major events are our three equitation shows held throughout the summer. We have classes dividing by age level for English and Western riders. We have an extensive division for our walk/trot riders as well as a full day of classes for our walk/trot/canter riders. Classes include equitation, pleasure, jumping, costume, parade, lead-line, showmanship, and a few games at the end of each day. Our goal is to have fun for all ages. We also have a fun game show to wrap-up each year.
We hold our shows at Foxfire Farm in Hampden, Maine. The show grounds are equipped with an outdoor riding ring. Complete with an announcers booth, speaker system, consesssion stand, and warm up area next to the ring. There are 2 fields, middle and lower, to park trailers and an upper field that can be used as a warm-up area. The promote a family orientated atmosphere and encourage everyone to be optimistic.
2004 Was a record breaking year for Central Maine Riding Association. We had our largest show ever this past year, met some wonderful people, and as always, had lots of fun with our horses and ponies. We are all looking forward to 2005's show season to catch up with old friends, make some new ones, and continue our growth as a club.
