Arts at OMS

WELCOME to OMS Art Page!

Art students at OMS have Art for a total of 20 weeks, 10 weeks in Grade 7, and 10 weeks in Grade 8.  There are four quarters of school

which means that between 85 and 100 new students come into the art room every 10 weeks.  That equates to a LOT of amazing art talent!

Students in the middle school will do drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, and sculpture.  They will learn about famous Master Artists such as

VanGogh, Picasso, O'Keefe, Kahlo, Pollack, and Wyeth.  Time periods in history covered will include Renaissance, Impressionism, Modern Art,

Abstract Art, Pop Art and others.  Materials used will be charcoal pencils, colored pencils, chalks (pastels), oil crayons, watercolors and acrylic

paints. Additionally, on WEDNESDAYS from 2:30 to 3:30 there is an art group meeting for interested students who choose to explore their
