_ Clyde's Spot

Games

I had entered Microsoft's Dream Build Play contest that ended July 2, 2007.  I wrote the game in C# using Microsoft's XNA Game Studio.  It is called xSpace.  I did not make it into the top 20 games in the contest.

Please feel free to leave comments on the games in the comments section at the bottom of this page:

xSpace DBP Entry

Here's the link to my DBP windows game "xSpace" (XNA Game Studio 1.0 refresh game package).  Note that this game requires an xBox 360 controller connected to your PC and a video card with Vertex/Pixel Shader 2.0 support.  It also requires the Microsoft XNA Framework 1.0 Refresh Runtime, .NET 2.0 Runtime and DirectX 9.0c which can be downloaded at Microsofts download site.

1 to 4 players.

At the begining of the game, you create a 3D Fireworks show for the transports returning to Earth (read the story at the startup screen).  After setting off the fireworks, alien craft appear and you must defend the transports.

I would suggest that you begin building fireworks around the Transport Constructor.  It's in the middle of the 3D space play area.  You can hear it building a transport at the start of a new game.  It will help orient you in 3D space for a good fireworks display.  Also, try flying around with the 360 controller A button pressed and it lay mulitple time delayed fireworks in a stream as you fly around.  It will make sparkler streams and other fireworks displays in sequence.  You can also press the DPad up or down button to change firework types (or colors if you press DPad right to access color) while holding the A button and make them fire in a delayed sequence.  Have Fun! :)
