Welcome to Cleoranee Shetland Stud. We are only a small stud consisting of one stallion and approxamatly 6 mares, and there is usually always youngstock and childrens ponies available to purchase.

I first found my love for the Shetland Pony when my parents brought my first stud colt (Pentland Nicka) from a Pentland sale many years ago. We had always grown up with owning race horses but there always seemed to be a little shettie hanging around for us kids. So off and on for the last 16 years I had been showing and breeding these gorgeous ponies. It was only back in 2005 that I took breeding more seriously as I had 4 very nasty riding falls off my bigger horses/ponies. So as I didn't bounce back up again and just layed there in pain reality hit and I knew I had to do something to make sure I'm still around to watch my 2 girls grow up. I knew I couldn't love anything more then the Shetland Pony so that is how Cleoranee Shetland Stud became established.

As I have children I wanted something completly safe for them to go out into the paddocks and play with the ponies whenever they felt like it. So that's when I thought we would concerntrate on specializing these little beauties for children. I hate nothing more then when you hear people talking about this breed being nasty and not making good childrens ponies. I am proud to say all ponies that leave our property have been brillant childs ponies.
