Clausons in Monterrey

Project Missionaries with the
Evangelical Covenant Church

We're Here!

After twenty-four hours of driving a stretch of more than 1500 miles from the mountainous desert of northern Mexico to the rolling hills of southern Wisconsin we officially have begun our “home assignment”.  We praise God for safe travels and that Matías and Lucas did reasonably well on the road.  These next few months we will be based in WI, IL and MN reconnecting with family, friends, churches, prayer warriors and partners in ministry.

Praise God!

  • For you, our partners in ministry, and for this opportunity that we have to reconnect with many of you and share what God is doing in Monterrey, Mexico!

  • For the visit of Stefanie, a young woman from Hillcrest Covenant Church in DeKalb, IL who came down to Monterrey to love and serve our family for six weeks this summer.  Stefanie’s visit reminded us that God’s timing is always perfect as it coincided with a very busy summer with packing and moving to a new house, with the Foundation staff retreat and the Mexico missionary staff retreat, and with getting ready for home assignment.  Muchas gracias Stefanie! Stefanie posted pictures and wrote about her experience on her blog: http://steffilynn.blogspot.com/

Prayer Requests

  • Moisés and Patty and their two girls (pictured) – the family that is staying in our house while we are in the US.  Again, God’s timing is perfect as this family was in a housing transition and in need of a place to stay exactly when we were looking for someone to stay in and care for our home for three months.  This is a couple that has experienced much reconciliation in their marriage through the ministries of the Family Foundation; however the strains of managing heavy work loads and constant financial struggles continue to weigh on their family.  Please pray that during these three months they may find some time to rest and be together as a family and that God would lead them to the perfect house for their needs.

  • Our time with family, friends and churches.  Please pray that we would be able to rest some and enjoy the time we have with our family, and also pray for our visits with churches and that strong and real connections will be made with individuals in each church.

  • God’s provision for our financial needs.  God is faithful and has always provided for us and we continue to trust in Him.  Currently, we have around 75% of our budget met and the focus of this home assignment is to connect with new churches that may be interested in partnering with us.  God has already opened many doors for these possible connections, and we ask for your prayers that when we leave for Monterrey in three months, we can leave with 100% of our budget met.

God’s blessings,

Erika, Nils, Matías and Lucas Clauson

P.S.  If you live in or around Minneapolis, southern Wisconsin or Chicago and would like to connect with us while on home assignment, please send us an email.  We’d love to see you!
