April 27th 2003, CCCC vs Network CC

Our season kicked off with a match against defending league champions Network CC. We had the worst possible start loosing the top three wickets inside ten overs. Mudassar and Jamal steadied the inning with a partnership that lasted 15 overs and avoided any further breakthroughs. Skipper Shakeel came in at the fall of Jamal's wicket and played strokes from the work go. Mudassar who by then had got his fifty was now playing more confidently and was going after the bowlers. Their partnership yielded over a hundred runs. Mudassar eventually got this hundred and was dismissed two runs later. Shakeel on the other hand got a quick fire 56 and the total reached 230 off 40 overs.

Network got off to a great start as their openers put on 90 runs. But once they were dismissed, wickets came regularly and were shared by all. Shakeel, Imran Yousaf, Mudassar, all bowled well and finally dismissed them for 175. A good start to the season indeed!
