5th November 2005 "Grenade"
Dog 6 USMC along with Sgt Badnewsinabun took on the idea of making it to the top of the Leaderboards as many of The BIA Squad's members have decided to do in the past or are still working towards acheiving The objective of being number one. When playing on The Map of 'The mill', we were pinned down right about where the explosives were located and at the time took heavy casulties while trying to progress through the heavy enemy fire towards the Flak 36 Located behind The Mill itself. After breaking through the enemy lines, we stopped to regroup, as we were preparing to srtike the gun with a large force from all directions. Without thought to find suitable cover, we stopped in the middle of the road thinking that the enemy had fled that particualr area. We then decided to Flank left and right and on setting off to proceed with The orders, Dog 6 USMC halted to say one more thing. Badnewsinabun already on his way returned to Dog knowing that Dog had decided on a new plan. Planning was crucial at this moment in this moment of time as we had very few men left. Although Badnewsinabun had never played on this Map before he fought with great distinction, determination and thout, and rpoved an excealent shot with The BAR. He deployed The troops perfectly to counterattack enemy units. Even though we worked hard we came to realise that one of the enemy troops were cheating, killing with a P-38 Pistol, without trouble, and not falling to a whole magazine from a Thompson. When discussing tactic still within these few seconds on The road, just infront of The Mill, Dog cried "Kraut". Imedietly Badnewsinabun turned, just in time to see the German soldier's greneade leve his extended arm.The German soldier was behind a fence far in the background hardly visible, it would be a suprsise if the grenade would reach. Soon as the grenade was chucked, Dog put a round into the soldiers chest and he fell onto the fence before him. It was that one individual German soldier that was unseen and managed to do so much. "Grenade" yelled Dog, cursing and blinding followed as the two Clan members tried to escape the fate of the Grenade. The Grenade fell to the feet of Dog and Badnewsinabun. Without the time to get down, the grenade blew up, fragments rushing in the air. Straight away all of Dogs team was killed aswell as Badnewsinabun's team. Their sight blocked by dirt and smoked faded quickly, but a grenade that close and to survive was a lucky encounter, but not for his men. The Fire Team and The Assault Team was lying there in a pile their weapons laying on top of the men around them. It was a sight not commonly seen in Brothers In Arms, that so many dead could fall within such a small area. The dead mens limbs drooped over the others in a large pile, it was truly suprising and shocking. The Grenade has been clearly visble to Dog and Badnewsinabun. It had landed basically against the boot of Badnewsinabun who after had his health little below the amount that allowed him to breathe and walk. The two soldiers managed to find cover against the Stone wall beside them, waiting for another Grenade that could await.

Being a member of Fire Team is inportant, some Clan members are better at close combat than others and are more experienced where as others, are a crack shot with an M1 rifle. If you are better at storming over walls and spitting out bullets at close ranges, and tossing grenades over sandbags and prepareing to get a screen full of mud and dirt, Assault Team is for you. With a Fire Team you have the heavier weapons, such as The BAR and a Garrand, and in Assault Team you have a light weight M1 Carbine, or a mad rageing thompson that screams hell at its target.
But when you grab yourself a BAR and stand there with Fire team, in a defensive postion there is nothing better than about 12 men running in open space infront of you, enemy that is. Your men imeadietly stand and begin to fire, ten men can be dropped within 5 seconds, and if you yourself, aim properly, aiming at the soldiers feet or just a few yards infront of them, with a BAR, you might be able to get the whole lot of them in a few seconds. That shakes the bastards up!

It was on The First Brothers In Arms where I first mastered my Fire Team skill, as I got the experience needed, playing Clan matches and waiting for the arrival of Brothers In Arms earned in Blood. I set my Fire Team up behind this mound of dirt and grass, and I was pleased knowing that any second, The Germans would move up to stop us from takeing The Flak Guns, that lay about 100 yards behind me. Assault Team at the time led by RedMountain, was already planting the explosives and The Germans in a rush to get there to stop the explosives, fell right into the trap. In a rush the panicking Germans came round the corner, completely unware of The Hell that awaited them.
Just like a foolish last resort, they came running in right infront of us, the enemy player easily regonisable from his out streched hand with a p38 in its grasp. The first shot was fired, there go's the the cracking of the M1 Garrand and then the satisfying ping noise that proceeded. The enemy players falls forward, the P38 beside him. The other player stops, still out in the open, at this time, the enemy soldiers were still moveing forward being moan down by my sweeping BAR. More cracks follow as a build up of soldiers begins to appear infront of us. The question of "why The Hell are they not flanking us?"

The Red lines show the movement of German Troops and The Black circle with dashes our Fire Team position with our range of Fire. This was the point of interception.

By this time The Germans had no chance to fire at us, and they were in panic. They could not leave the spawn area and this was because we had gotten into position too quickly for there pace of action. A couple of rounds had been fired off by a MP40 but there was no substancial amount to hinder our progress. Then they came again! Another team it was a German Fire Team as they were identifyable by the weapons carried. Aim at the feet with the BAR if possible, the rounds will travel up the body and kill the enemy with a small number of rounds.
It was then they realised, they were trapped in by The Fire Team, and they wouldnt and couldnt move without takeing more casulties, so after secureing the Flak Gun 20mm, The Assault Team un-hindered in their path, charged The German spawn and grenaded the remaining Germans. Although we had planted the explosives on the last gun and the others were destroyed, this final charge had killed them all and we were victorious through death of all enemy soldiers. The game results appeared just as the last grenade was blwing dirt into the air, we went out with a bang and a boom. No friendly soldiers had been killed and every German soldier was dead. |

Tell you what, if we had been given bayonets that day we would have used them. Dog 6 USMC and The Dude 17 took on the objective of a timed assault. They were competeing for the best Timed Assault score against some other guys who had just moved to number one and number two in the league. They did this mode at the highest rateing, the enemy AI was on full, their accuracy on full and just everything was makeing it against the odds.

They came under fire, straight away Dog 6 USMC and The Dude 17 placed fire upon the bunkers, pinning down the enemy. Rounds were wizzing past us and before we knew it already one of our men had been killed. Dog 6 USMC started to run, dirt from the rounds kicking up around him, The Dude 17 ran the other way. The Dude 17 began to head for the left bunker where as Dog 6 USMC the right, they ran up the hill, evey now and then running into a bunch of Germans behind sandbags.
The Dude 17 could here the cracking if grenades, and started to run opening fire on the near by German soldiers. Dog 6 USMC looking left saw that Germans were running back up the hill, to higher positions. Dog 6 USMC ran past two German soldiers completely un-aware of what was going on, he put a clip of an M1 Garrand in them, and carried running. The Fire from behind, comeing from Dog 6 USMC's Fire Team rushed over the head of The Dude 17.
Dog 6 USMC could here the blazeing sound from The Dude 17's Thompson and cut left to tackle the Right Bunker. He got up close to the barbed wire and put two grenades in. He knew he was sucessful as the Germans inside screamed and then stopped sceaming soon as the explosion occured. Then as he moved on he caught of one German fireing down at The Dude 17 and put a round directly in his back, dropping him over the sand bags.
More Germans rushed into position and The Dude 17 who must have picked up a German weapon, as he was holding one opened fire dropping five of them. The time limit was still increaseing and they had to move. They fought their way up the hill, jumping over the sandbags and at one point being hit back by a German rifle but, suprised at they lost no health from this attack.
Germans had already started to proceed back into The Bunkers, but they were moveing up, they stormed onto the Plateau and gunned down the Germans surronding The Flak Guns. Dog 6 USMC pulled out his BAR and fired away clips continuously at enemy postions as The Dude 17 attacked The Germans with his Team. Dog 6 USMC spotted some Germans trying to flank The Dude 17 and charged them in an attempt to kick them out of that position. The Game ended, They were only five seconds behind the top scorer, they had moved up one place as a result. |
