On attending Normandy 2005 between the 2nd and 7th of June, Dog 6 USMC couldnt but notice the posters of Brothers Iin Arms that had filled every street and corner shop in Caretan, and as we drove past Verville the walls were lit with the coulour of posters, deep red, black, white and gold reflected in the warm weathers sun. Dog 6 USMC being a reenacter himself had spent the day down at Utah Beach meeting many of the veterans, many of them German, who had been at the anti-aircraft batteries, during the time of the paratrooper landings.

One man who we became good friends with took us to a map just next to the Utah Beach museum, he pointed out the incorrect postions on the map and showed us that some towns were a little closer that thought. He showed us how exactly he had proved his part in The D-day landings, even though his objective at the time, being German, was to halt its sucess.
Dog 6 USMC spent the next day as an honor guard for Omaha Beach veterans and spent a very emotional day at the American cemetry. There veterans stood with wives, sons and daughters now grown, and a few reenacters who the veterans were proud to thank. Dog 6 USMC with his fellow reenacters marched to Point Du Hoc and from there put on a display for the veterans of The Ranger Battalions, 101st Airborne, along with the 29th Infantry Division and 82nd Airborne Division.

The words of The wise!
"I would just like to thank you all so greatly for what you are doing for us and the people of the world today, the soldiers I fought with and I, were a Band of Brothers, that brotherhood isnt something they teach in schools, but it is something so special to many men who come here today from all diffrent nations. With people like you, History will never be forgotten, so if you keep alive the History within you and give others the chance to see it, and uphold it so that others have the liberty to understand and experience what we have learnt you have done us a great service. Never let anyone forget what these men did for us this day, so many years ago, God bless them all, and God Bless you."
The words of The wise! What Dog 6 USMC was told as he stood for the Veterans.
As The veterans departed a veteran with a tear in his eye shook the hand of Dog 6 USMC and thanked him once again. The bond was so great that un-believable. Dog 6 USMC knew it was an objective to protect the fragile world of History against the dimissive and powerful new. He knew it would be a battle to up-hold History, even if his battle is not evident to the public eye, he would do his best to express the significance of History and all it witholds

The next day Dog 6 USMC attended the Dead Man's corner museum not that far from verville, then again everything was within good walking distance. Even though it was hot and his trousers were wool, it was a thrill to walk amongst the beautiful Historic sights, all of which brought back pure memories of Brothers In Arms. On one occasion Dog 6 USMC could pronounce the tactics he had used to overcome a field. Aswell as thrilling some of it was rather haunting.

There Dog 6 USMC met Forrest Guth and spoke with him, after that he talked with some other reenacters who were kitting themselves up for the afternoon march.
