Well after a reasonably mild winter (SO FAR) we have paired some animals sooner than normal. We have had confirmer locks with:
BP's -Lady (Classique) X Dexter (Mojave)
We also paired:
Corn Snakes- Phoenix (Amel Stripe) X Komodo (Amel Cube/Stripe). There was no lock seen and there was no evidence of a successful mating, despite Komodo's best efforts. We will try them again tonight. We never leave Corn Snakes paired for more than an hour at a time as the males are quite persistant!
We are very glad to announce a partnership of sorts with The Reptile Attic. Sam (and his long suffering fiancee Sarah) have recently moved to within walking distance of us which is wonderful news. We already had planned a few joint pairings with leopard geckos and have some python/ boa plans for the future. Sam is a Veterinary Surgeon who has had very close contact with the Clancorns collection for the last 4 or 5 years & has been building up a brilliant collection himself for a number of years. His website http://reptileattic.webs.com/ is currently under construction, please pop over and have a look sometime.
All the rest of the animals are doing great. My wonderful anniversary present from August has finally finished quarentine and is now a resident with the rest of the collection. She has been named (finally!) Khaleesi. It suits her very well!
Her space in our quarentine room has been taken up by a stunning Dumerils boa. These are not terribly common as some people are put off by the CITES paperwork but microchipping & 1 form to fill it out not difficult fot such a fantastic calm species. She was born in 2011 & came from the lovely Deano @ Khanige boa's in Essex.

Happy New Year to you all! We hope you had a lovely festive season with your families and animals.
We had a sad end to 2011 when our first Royal python clutch didn't work out. Hoping 2012 is more successful with this species.
There was a lovely addition in December.... "Pandora"
Pandora is a Nosy be Panther Chameleon and is settling in very nicely. I really must get updated photos of all our non Corn snake residents to update our Clanzoo page.
A page has just been added....Breeding 2012. All just plans and thoughts just now, subject to change and most likely will!
Hope you all don't have terrible hangovers and keep checking the blog!

Well I forgot to update again didn't I! If I'm honest I was a little down, the pairings didn't go to plan but we did end up with 33 eggs in total, not too shabby!
We are currently watching Rustys clutch hatch, this is slightly odd as she laid hers 3rd. The first 2 are holding on and not showing their faces yet!
Out so far we have 4 Wild Type Stripes and 1 Amel stripe with more noses. All Stripes are pretty perfect and we are very pleased!
Here is one as a teaser ![]()

Update time!
Spring is in the air and we have had some warmer times, although a brief spell of snow last weekend did lower temperatures somewhat!
We have 2 more Cresty eggs, this time from Phsyco(Cream/ Mocha Cheveron), the first 2 were from Lily(Lavender Harley), Daddy is a Choc/Cream Flame. The hatchlings from Sept (Itsy) and 1st Jan (Ninja & unnamed) are doing great and growing like weeds although Ninja is taking over from Itsy!
Stumpy, a female from Stacey and Muffin another young girly, have both moved in together into a large glass unit together and seem to be getting on well, although Muffin has decided to sleep each day......like a bat upside down. As long as she is comfy!
Our Gargoyle gecko, Igor, is of course with a name like that looking more female everyday. Devours everything in sight and is due a house upgrade soon!
I have decided not to pair any leopard geckos this year, as I have enough on my hands just now. Not often is a wise choice made like that. Also the Leo group changed a littled last week. I fell in love with Sam's iccle Murphy Patternless male so asked if he would like to do a swap. He is now the new owner of our lovely Sunglow girly Aslan & our little new addition is Pan as he joined us the day before Pancake day!
The soon to be next door neighbours of Muffin & Stumpy arrived this week! A trio of R. kerstenii aka PYGMYELEONS! They are pygmy chameleons and absolutely gorgeous. At 11 months old they are around middle aged, we believe one of the girls has been laying already
Will let you know if babies hatch. The trio are currently in their quarentine abode in another room away from the existing reptile collection.
Whats happening with the snakes I hear you ask? I'm getting there!
Lady & Dexter have had several more pairings, he certainly has got the hang of it for a little chap. Im chuffed to bits at the possiblity of having baby royals this year! Keep everything crossed for us!
Iliria (Opal Stripe) X Pooface( Hypo Bloodred) have been put together a couple of times and no hook up as yet. Its still early, last year it was the start of April that Iliria was paired with Kai so she may just not be ready yet.
There is a secret mating happened of a special project, all will be revealed in oooh....2/3 years time ! 2 hook ups have occured!
Also planned this year is Kiss (Snow het or Homo Hypo het Charcoal) X River (Platinum) & possibly Phoenix (Amel stripe) X Earl (Hypo Stripe) Or Sprite (Snow Stripe) X Komodo (Amel Stripe/Cube).
You can see my plans are a clear as mud at the mo....I have the pairings in my head sorted and on many many bits of paper, but alas, I have to do as the animals dictate and if they dont want to pair there is little I can do about it!
The furries.....we are sad to say we lost our little Oona last weekend to a brain tumour, she was our stunning little Siamese dumbo rat. It was all very sudden and her sister Loki misses her greatly. Although rosy apple flavoured yoghurt drops seem to be helping the grieving process. As over 2 years old we feel Loki is too old to have a new companion introduced to her so she has moved inside and demands our presence at her cage each time we reach the top of the stairs.
Shadow the husky has fully recovered from his op in January to remove coal from several places inside his body! We decided to stop training for rallies and concentrate on getting him back to fitness and give my poor (not so) old body a rest. We are also preparing ourselves for the possible new arrival of a 4 legged furry in the summer, all will be revealed when more is confirmed!
The other dogs are well, the hedgepig is as grumpy as ever. The ferrets are good apart from poor old Mojo is now on heart meds but he doesnt know any different and is as crazy as ever.
I've probably missed someone out but if you didnt know the amount of animals we owned...aherm...are owned by....you do now!
Am in bed with the flu hence the long and waffly update, enjoy!

Well on Jan 1st we had our first hatchlings....2 little Crested gecko babies, gorgeous wee souls.
On Valentines day I began pairing, a little earlier than normal. No corn snake hook ups to report but I did witness 3 locks the following day with my Mojave Royal Python male, Dexter and his betrothed, Lady. Lady is a proven Wild type female who we got from Stacey @ Masterpiece morphs.
We have 2 more crested gecko eggs icubating.
There are possible plans afoot to breed one or two of our leopard gecko girls this year, I just cant decide!
Keep an eye on the site for further updates and pictures as the season progresses.

Ooops neglected blog!
With lots of little mouths to feed & Doncaster show then husky racing training I've forgotten about my blog!
Well Aro X Rustys clutch was lovely, Amels, Snows, 3 Snow stripes and one wee lonley Amel Stripe! The Amels were a real hit at Doncaster show.
The show was amazing and thanks to Lexcorns Alun for building my amazing show display to show off my kids
I had the company of ProCorns Adam & Debbie, Lexcorns Lex (then later Alun) & Kev of Bci Morphs.

I didnt behave myself at the show....we added a Pinstripe Crested gecko hatchling. Gargoyle gecko hatchling, 3 corns ( 2 pre- booked) from Procorns & a hatchling & yearling from Lexcorn ......I also went shopping for a friend and that was great fun!! A pair of Brazillian Rainbow boas, my only regret is not getting a little girl for myself. Looks like I'll have to wait a couple of years!
I also picked up our female boa from Kev, a gorgeous Pastel Salmon female
She has been nicknamed BeeCee and hates her daddy lol. *sigh* she was his birthday present!!

Well with Clutch 1 feeding and Clutch 2 starting we are eagerly awaiting Rusty X Aro's clutch.
Both Ahi & Trinity have provided us with a few more eggies in double clutch.
Please see our Breeding 2010 pics for our exciting hatchlings from Trinity's clutch.
We have just introduced a beautiful male Mojave 66% Hypo 09 male from Welsh Reptile Breeders and are very much looking forward to getting him involved in our breeding programme.

The season has barely started and Im already behind in updating the website!!
On 28th May pretty Iliria produced her clutch for us. There were more than expected however the majority were infertile. This girl is a first timer and she was mated fairly soon after she came to us from the lovely Lexcorns so we will try her again with Kai next year. He is a proven male. There are 4 eggs that look viable....fingers crossed.
29th & 30th May our beloved Platinum female successfully laid 11 BIG pearly whites. Happy days!! We cannot wait to see the outcome of this clutch as its testing out Daddy Aro for being Homozygous Hypo rather than het.
We have been naughty (or should I say me, myself & I) and we are expecting the following additions this year from our friends.
A Salmon Pastel female BCI from Kevin & Gemma @ www.bci-morphs.co.uk
This is her first pic, we have several others that Kevin kindly took and she is much more red/pink already. We cant wait to get her later in the year but just wish it was sooner and that we could find a suitable name for her!
Also we are looking to add 1.1 pair of 2010 corns from Johan & Nielsface @ Special corns in Holland. Details will follow when we have had confirmation that the hatchlings have established ![]()
Any day now a clutch from Lexcorn are due to hatch that we have been awaiting for 3 years. Anery Carmot.....details to follow also.
